Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. United KingdomWe couldn’t stay longer 😢
We stayed at Chalet Lidia Sorrento to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday — and to return to the place where we got engaged many years ago. From the moment we arrived, everything felt just as magical as we remembered. The garden room itself is absolutely charming — looks brand new, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches that make it feel like a home away from home. The peaceful garden and terrace were perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine after exploring Sorrento or starting the day with a coffee. There’s a bar with games table, cooking classes available and breakfast if you wanted to book. I’d happily travel alone and stay here to just relax as such a perfect spot! Giuseppe was the most wonderful host — outstanding communications, warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. He made sure every detail of our stay was perfect and even helped us with local recommendations to make our celebration extra special. The location couldn’t be better: quiet and private, yet just a short walk to Sorrento’s main attractions, restaurants, and the marina. The calm oasis in the evening is something else. Returning to Sorrento and staying at Chalet Lidia made this milestone birthday unforgettable. We left with full hearts and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone thinking of a perfect base. We’ve been to sorrento around 7 times over the last 25 years and was truly one of the best experiences for all the hotels we’ve stayed in. Giuseppe kindly dropped us at the train station on the way home!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ♥️

United StatesPerfect location off a quiet street just a short walk from the center of town. The property is beautiful with a ton of charm - lemon trees, olive trees, etc. The host, Giuseppe, was very responsive, accommodating and had great recommendations for exploring Sorrento. We opted in for breakfast two of our three mornings and highly recommend. We also took Angelo’s cooking class on the property and had so much fun. Highly recommend staying at Chalet Lidia if you want an authentic experience in Sorrento.

Stayed at this property for 3 nights and it was one of the best experiences we had. We had an easy check in and check out process. Got a walk thru of the property learned about the lemons and olives that grow on the property along with cooking class that is also held there. The host was very helpful and also checked if ferry was operating since there was a wind storm the night prior. Communication was clear and the room itself was clean and private. Location itself is central but quiet. There is an elevator lift that you can use to get up to property from the ferry’s to avoid lots of stairs. Will be staying again

United KingdomNot one single thing.
This was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in and a amazing choice for our honeymoon! We spent two weeks here and from the moment we arrived we felt completely at ease. Giuseppe, Angelo, and their family were incredibly welcoming and always on hand to help with anything we needed. Giuseppe went above and beyond—arranging private transfers, helping us plan day trips, and even carrying my VERY heavy suitcase without hesitation Haha. Angelo’s cooking class was another highlight; we tried more than one during our stay in Sorrento, but his was by far the best. The family tiramisu recipe was by far the best one ive ever tasted!! The chalet itself is extremely beautiful, set in a quiet and peaceful spot yet only steps from the centre of Sorrento and all of its amazing restaurants. It was private and relaxing, but also very convenient for exploring. Breakfast each morning was fresh, varied, and always delicious. Overall, the combination of the stunning setting, great location, and the genuine care from the family made our honeymoon truly special. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting Sorrento, and we will definitely be returning in the futuer! (P.s they have a gorgeous resident dog who made our trip even more special as we were missing our furbaby so much)

What can I say… It was beyond amazing. The staff, the pool, the rooms, the garden, the food. We had the best time staying there. They were really really helpful that I cannot stress enough! Everywhere is so close. The garden is so quiet. Pool time was the best for us. They recommend a good local restaurant and made a reservation for us which was AMAZING! We will definitely come back to Chalet Lidia. I cannot even describe the greatness of this place. Thank you for everything!!

United KingdomReview Chalet Lidia in Sorrento is a slice of heaven! Amazing accommodation located right in the heart of Sorrento within minutes from all the bars, restaurants and other amenities. Nearest beach at Marina Grande is also a short walk away with access to quieter beach, club as well as authentic fish restaurants and a variety of water sports including kayaking and SUP. As Chalet Lidia has a walled garden it is a very tranquil location but also exceptionally beautiful as its gardens are full of lemon trees, hammocks, swings as well as a luxury pool area. The room accommodation exceeded our expectations and we felt so comfortable and relaxed as it was perfect on every aspect from air-conditioning, shower, bed, fridge as well as Indoor and outdoor seating.

United KingdomEverything about this accommodation is absolutely phenomenal! From the moment you arrive at the gates to the moment you leave. The accommodation is about an hours drive from Naples airport. When we arrived, we saw a very welcoming gate which was highly secured - we felt safe straight away! Giuseppe greeted us at the gates and took our bags to be safely secured until check in. We were given a cold, refreshing drink and we were able to get into the pool straight away! They have a bathroom where you’re able to freshen up and get changed, it was such a great touch. At the pool, we had cold drinks and snacks. The pool area and entire accommodation is just so clean and well kept. The family were so welcoming and smiley, and they are always maintaining the grounds - it’s immaculate! There aren’t any words for the beauty of the gardens or the hospitality of the family - everything was just perfect. The room was stunning - so clean and so modern, yet it still felt homely. We were so impressed. The location of the accommodation was second to none - you are so close to everything! But if you want some peace and quiet at the end of the day, it’s so nice to enjoy the gardens and pool at the accommodation. There is a cooking class offered every day which we unfortunately didn’t get time for this trip. We would love to do this in future! On the morning of check out, Giuseppe sent us a message to say that he has left us fresh, homemade croissants on our garden table. This was such a beautiful touch and the croissants were delicious!! You are always so looked after here and it’s guaranteed you will be happy for your stay. This accommodation exceeded our expectations overall and we will DEFINITELY return and recommend to family and friends! Thank you Giuseppe and family for a wonderful stay and a wonderful experience of Italy.

Wow! Absolutely amazing! The photos and description just don’t do it justice at all! There are 3 completely private well-equipped & immaculately clean chalets, with their own private gardens with outdoor furniture, set within a large stunning oasis-like garden full of lemon trees and beautiful plants, secluded chairs, tables, hammocks & swing chairs. The pool area is lovely with a variety of plentiful chairs & sunbeds and enough shade if required. Angelo and Giuseppe were always on hand, providing drinks, lunch, putting sun brollies up, cheerful conversation, restaurant recommendations and were the perfect hosts. They also organised a full day Amalfi coast tour for us which was brilliant with just enough time in each town aswell as our airport transfers. They also kept our bags for us after checkout as we had a late flight home and we could use the facilities all day and then there was a lovely shower room with hairdryer etc to get changed in. So many little touches everywhere make this the most amazing location & only a few minutes walk to Marina Grande fishing village one way or Sorrento the other way. There’s even an outdoor socket & adaptor for charging your phone! The food at breakfast, just kept on coming and was all homemade, served beautifully overlooking the pool. We also did Angelo’s cookery class which was a wonderful experience & shouldn’t be missed.

I wish I could give more than 10/10. It is hard to convey with words how special this place is. It was beyond anything we imagined. We were at the end of our honeymoon after hopping around a few cities in Italy before landing in Sorrento to relax by the seaside for a few days. The place is stunning; tranquil, peaceful, comfortable, and very well looked after. It's hard to not see and feel the family's dedication to create such an idyllic location. Our hosts were wonderful long before we even showed up: helpful, warm and welcoming, and treated us like family. Giuseppe gave us some local advice for places to go - they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need even before you arrive. Breakfast (which is optional but you absolutely should take it) involved (among other things) home made items like pastries and fruits from the garden which grows various things like lemons, berries, oranges (you can smell the fruit trees!) and tomatoes. We got to try the family's home made Limoncello too which is absolutely delicious. We didn't take the on-site cooking classes but we will next time and these seemed popular while we were there...we will certainly return. The chalet itself was very comfortable, quiet, and spotless. On the edge of the town, it is a simple walk down to the small beautiful fishing marina with its restaurants and bars, and a short walk into town. Everything is within short reach. The pool was gorgeous and we had it to ourselves sometimes but even when we didn't it was still a delightful place to relax. A special thank you to Giuseppe and Angelo who looked after us so well. Giuseppe was helpful right until the end making sure our airport taxi was suitable and helping us to it with our bags on the morning of our departure. We will never forget our stay at Chalet Lidia.

We can’t praise Chalet Lidia enough!! It truly blew all our other holidays out of the water. The care and attention they showed us made us feel like royalty, they couldn’t do enough for us, and we’ve come home feeling very spoilt and refreshed! Set in the most gorgeous fragrant garden was pure heaven and all of the facilities 10/10! Giuseppe was amazing, so attentive and helped book all our tours and personally took us to the meet up points for them, he also suggested some great restaurants which didn’t disappoint! Also, can’t recommend enough, joining Angelo on his cooking classes that are held there too, a very fun evening! Thank you again!!

United StatesEverything was amazing. I thought the space in the room and bathroom was slightly tight, but that’s true for Europe generally. We also were carrying a lot of luggage so that may be on us.
We had breakfast at the hotel only one day, but it was an incredible spread. We were expecting a quick bite, but they had fresh juice, fresh coffee, fresh meat and cheese, freshly baked goods. I keep saying fresh because that takes time and effort. They also were very accommodating and had the entire spread ready by 8am for our all-day trip!

Chalet Lidia exceeded all my expectations. It is a family run resort and they truly make you feel like part of the family. The gardens were a peaceful sanctuary, so quiet and beautiful, and yet only minutes to walk to the historical district of Sorrento where there were too many great restaurants to count. Our breakfasts were amazingl. Homemade croissants, fresh squeezed orange juice, and wide variety of choices. The lemoncello was also housemade and the best we had on our two week stay. The family helped us with all our plans, directions, recommendations, and rides. We would definitely stay here again and recommend highly to friends.

United StatesChalet Lidia is a secret oasis in the middle of busy beautiful Sorrento. The location is divine. Right off the bustling streets and into a well kept garden of trees and flowers with many seating areas. Our room was clean, quiet and the bed very comfortable. The pool was inviting and one of us swam, but the weather was a bit too chilly. We found the location convenient to the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Pompei and super close to the beach, restaurants and town. Considerate and knowledgeable Giuseppe served up a delicious breakfast in the morning and answered questions and made awesome suggestions. We enjoyed a cooking class on site, which we highly recommend. Fresh ingredients, gentle coaching and a magnificent meal at the end. It was entertaining and more fun than we expected.

The rooms are spotless and thoughtfully designed, while the kitchen is so charming it makes you want to cook... or just eat more! Be sure to opt for their breakfast — it’s a generous spread of hearty, homemade delicacies that set the tone for a perfect day.
