Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The host had trouble with water in the bathroom in our booked room. She immediately rebooked us into beautiful acommodation nearby. That was very kind of her.

South AfricaThe location was a bit difficult to find and took us through a very dodgy street but our hostess came to our rescue. It was also a bit noisy at night but If you close the window it is fine. There was also quite a lot of stairs that was difficult carrying all our luggage up to the room.
The hostess was so nice and helpful. She showed us our room and even helped us too boo a restaurant at a local very Italian restaurant that had the best best best food and wine I had in my whole trip to Italy! We got to experience the real Italian city life and we absolutely loved it! Highlight of the trip! The bed was also nice and comfortable.

CroatiaRooms are in the shared apartment. I didn’t like that. It should have been B&B but I didn’t get even a B of breakfast. In the evening was noisy but with earplugs was ok. Although the place is in the centre, the neighbourhood is full of prostitution and weird people. As a solo traveler girl, I didn’t feel comfortable and safe walking in these streets.
The room and bathroom were clean and nice.

ItalyNothing. All great.
The accommodation was excellent. The owner could not have been more courteous and helpful. She even accompanied me to the theatre I had to get to nearby. Not being on site permanently was no issue as she was there to meet us and communicated constantly by Whatsapp for all our needs. Even an umbrella which was we were told to take free upon leaving due to the bad weather that day. The bathroom was better well equipped than most hotels, good hairdryer & vanity sets. An Iron in the small room next to ours which I assume could be used by the guests. All essentials for a woman travelling. We loved the kitchen with Nespresso machine and biscuits etc and free water in the fridge and the freedom to use when we wanted. Also not 10am "thrown on to the streets" policy as with most hotel. Excellent stay.

SwedenWhile the property is in the old town and very close to many attractions (and walking distance to the train station), it is also in a dodgy area with prostitution and drug dealing. Overall: the hotel is nice, but not the neighbourhood.
Clean place, good communication with the host. Comfortable room.

United KingdomNothing, although a warning to others that there are a few flights of steps to climb with luggage.
This is a beautifully renovated and clean, comfortable room and bathroom in a central location. The kitchen facilities are spotless and very useful with fresh fruit, biscuits and water supplies. Matteo met us in a nearby square to show us the way to the apartment and Silvia was very kind and helpful with information and arrival time. We enjoyed listening to the authentic sounds of the city through the open windows at the end of the day but, once everything was closed up and the a/c switched on, it was quiet for sleeping!

Rooms Genova dei Rolli are located in the city center and exceeded our expectations with its perfect blend of modern amenities and charming historical details, offering a truly immersive experience in the heart of the city. Its convenient location made exploring the beautiful streets and landmarks of Genoa a breeze, adding incredible value to our stay.

United KingdomLike previous reviews say, the street it’s located on isn’t super tourist friendly at night (absolutely fine in the day), but you should probably know that it’s a popular street for prostitution (it is safe though!).
Really lovely, comfortable, modern and clean rooms in the middle of Genoa! Silvia was very helpful and kind helping us check in, the free coffee, fruit and biscuits available were a bonus!

AustraliaNo lift. If you have a lot of luggage may be a struggle to climb the stairs. As it is in a small street in heart of old town can be noisy with people's voices.
Located in the centre of the old town. Everything only a short walk away. Rooms located on 2nd floor. Has well equipped kitchen and dining room shared with 2 other rooms. All facilities new and clean.

NorwayEverything was great.
A little jewel in the heart of Genova. Everything was perfect - the hosts, Silvia and Irene, were lovely and extremely helpful. Silvia met me after midnight (I arrived on a late flight) and helped me bring my bags to the B&B. The whole apartment is spacious and very clean, and my room was exactly as described/shown on Booking. Having access to the shared kitchen was great as well - true, there were not pots and pans, but I had access to the fridge and the microwave, and there was complimentary water, tea, coffee, cookies, and fruit. There is a bar on the ground floor of the building and it can get loud at night, but the units have new, tight windows, so once I closed my window, I was able to sleep. I would definitely book this stay again.

AustraliaIt is up 2 flights of stairs so just be warned if you have a heavy case, but that's excepted in Italy. If you leave the window open, expect lots of local noise, but the room was pretty soundproof when everything was closed.
Marco made it really easy to find him and walked us to the accommodation which was nice. It was fairly central to walk down to the port and lots of food places around. We had a coffee pod machine available which was great! Bit of a hidden gem.

NetherlandsOur stay in B&B Genova dei Rolli was more than pleasant. In the labyrinth of Genova is the B&B a bit difficult to find, but our host Marco was more than helpful in directing us to a parking area and his B&B. So Marco is a friendly, very helpful host. The room is comfortable, good bed and shower. We recommend this B&B in the centre of old Genova very much.
