Gio was very helpful and the room is an excellent part of Scalea, with a beautiful square just below. There are restaurants and bars close by. It’s a great location. The apartment was comfortable and clean.

Nothing. Be prepared for stairs, but that’s the whole of Scalea.

We stayed for only one night. Excellent location. Free street parking close by. Basic accommodation very clean.

For those who are sensitive- smoking is permitted in the room.

The room was very clean . The view overlooking the small piazza was nice.

The climb up to the room. Although it mentioned the room was on the upper floor the stairs are uneven (stone) to get up to the building ( no hand rail) and then there were quite a few stairs with in the building. Also would have been nice to get a heads up that there was a major religious festivity the day after we got there, many roads were closed.

Position in a tranquil old town with breathtaking sights. The host who's welcoming, responsive, and helpful. Cleanliness was spotless.

Not that we didn't like it, as it is clearly stated in the description of the accommodation - access to the room has several stairs which shouldn't be a challenge for visitors who are a bit in shape. There was a brief water shortage for which we got advanced notice from the host.

Great location in the old town near restaurants. Check-in was easy, and the room was clean and comfortable.

The location is very good if you are looking to be near the edge of the old city as it is just near a main road that is accessible with a car if you are driving or in a taxi. The rooms are located in a pleasant square, which is relatively quiet even with the activity there, with easy access to the upper (older) part of the city and not far from the lower (newer) part of the city. Beach is Jayne a 10-15 minute walk. The room was basic but decent for the price. There was enough space and a decent window out onto a Juliette balcony. Overall it was pretty clean and functional. Communication was good and Giovanni came within 5 minutes of calling, but anyone staying here would need to have a way to call because there is no reception.

It did not affect my review, but for anyone with lots of big bags or older with difficulty mounting stairs, this might be tricky. There are quite a few steps up to the residence and many more into the unit. The only problems I had were that the wifi was very spotty which made it difficult to plan subsequent portions of the trip, and the shower hot water kicked out on me twice (once it came back, once it did not).

Charming location in the old town. Room was modern, large and comfortable. Walkable from the railway station (but about 15 minutes). Several good bars/restaurants very close by. I would stay there again.

It would be good to have a kettle/coffe maker (perhaps in the communal corridor), but a minor issue.

Good location, it is the historic center. Closely to city center, restaurants, shops, beach and the same time quiet and calm.

Room was great location easy to access town and beach and village. Amazing restaurants including Gio bar great drinks!

Anything you could need was made available. The bed was comfortable and the location was quiet. Truly lovely

Comfortable room and bed with a lovely view of the Old Town. We were able to check out late and had a great stay!

The room was only cleaned at the end of our stay, would have been nice to have the option of new towels and cleaning once a day.

Basic facilities

Lovely comfortable and very clean room, beautiful views. Very central for restaurants and beach. Host was very friendly. Would stay again, Scalea is a lovely town. I Recommend visiting the restaurant, Cimalonga, which is a 5 minute walk in old town and just up the hill from accommodation. Food is excellent and owners are so friendly, well worth a visit. One of the best meals we have had in Calabria, very reasonable price for food and drinks.

It would have been nice to have a coffee machine to have tea/coffee in the morning apart from that everything was fine.

The walls were a bit thin, but still ok.

Location is perfectly integrated in the city, which is mainly composed of steps. The room was comfy and quiet.

We would have appreciated if the host had warmed the room a little bit before our arrival. Furthermore, a coffee maker could be added, we have missed it.
