How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewFor my boyfriends birthday, we booked the room with the private bathroom. Everything from the check in to the room itself was perfect. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom feels like a luxury hotel and the balcony was very nice too. The bed is very comfy and everything is well equipped and well working. The shared kitchen is nice too. Laura is well organised and even sends you a Google Map with all her best recommendations for your stay. We could even text her on WhatsApp during the day to ask for the best spot to watch the sunset. She truly helped us to make the most of our stay! We could even leave our luggage with her for a few hours on our checkout day. THANK YOU Laura!
More of an information than a negative thing: If you stay here, be prepared to have to walk a little bit. You can always tipe in the adress beforehand to search for the route to your points of interest. However, there is a bus station right near the house so you can always use public transport around the city. We would book the same room for our next stay in Bergamo though, because we dont mind walking a bit and you don‘t find rooms like this in the city centre, that are affordable.

Verified reviewGreat accommodation near the city center (3 km by walk less than 30 minutes by bus right in the Citta Alta). It's 10 minutes by bus to the train station and you are free to choose the Lake you fancy to visit. One hour to Milan, 1 hour to Lago di Lecco (and then to Como), 1 hour to Lago d'Iseo etc. Clean rooms, clean bathroom, comfortable bed, noise isolation of the room (the traffic from outside was almost muted) everything was just tip top :-) Special thanks to manager Laura who was very helpful and gave us great advices about traveling, tips what to visit and was very nice to talk with. If I'll visit Bergamo again, I would use the this accommodation again.

If you intend to cook anything then I will suggest to don’t, absolutely joke these electric stoves, for a quick tea coffee it’s ok, but not to cook.
good evening, I really struggle to understand your review. The room you booked is clearly visible from the photos and the rules even before booking. 1- since it is not a hotel with a reception there are check-in times, which are also visible at the time of booking. if you wanted different times I think there are structures that allow it, you just had to read. 2- I don't understand what you mean by the hob? Are four cooking stations / burners not enough? if you mean by the space instead it is a normal kitchen made available for two rooms. if you wanted it only for yourself even in this case there are independent solutions: apartments. what do you mean by stove?? the hob is induction.. oh well... thanks anyway for the stay laura

Verified reviewIt was wonderful! Laura is so hospitable that we didn't want to leave! Very attentive and caring! We are very glad that we met such a positive and kind person! Everything is perfectly clean, everything that was needed was there, change of bed linen and towels, Laura advised interesting locations, useful tips on where it is better to eat and see in the city and outside the city.. it was an unforgettable vacation! A little advice: if you have a teenage child, it is preferable to book another room.. I will only recommend Laura to my friends in Bergamo - you will not find better!

I was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't even use all the amenities available. What truly stood out was the incredible communication with the owner. For the first time, I experienced such professional and friendly service. The accommodation was excellent, and the valuable tips from the owner helped me make the most of my time in Bergamo. I have fond memories of this trip and would love to return. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewAccommodation was really perfect - new furniture, everything cozy and stylish. We felt there like at home. Everything was in the nearness as well - great caffe house with great croissants for breakfest, amazing pizzeria Pizzi Kotto really close to apartment, market,... We really appreciate perfect approach of owner Laura - she was very helpful, kind and willing to help us in any time and with everything through Whatsapp. She prepared map of city with her recommendations for us and she gave us perfect tip for buying of 3-days ticket for all transport in Lombardia. I definitely recommend!
