Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is a set of stairs to get up to the room, which would have been difficult with bags had the host not helped us out. But Cosima was there to greet us, help us up the stairs and give us some travel tips, which we greatly appreciated.
Clean, comfy, stylish central and good value. We got a lot of use out of the kitchen.

United KingdomNothing really, except that the inside of the shower could be cleaned better possibly.
Excellent location inside the old town and within minutes to restaurants, cafes, shops and places of interest. The studio is within walking distance to places of interest, the small harbour and the beach whilst some others beaches may be further away. If travelling by car, you cannot park outside the property but you can park about 5/6 minutes walk away for free. Park for free on the white line on Via Padre Manghisi or Via Europa Libera. Parking on blue lines/boxes will cost a few euros. We arrived in Monopoli around 10pm and the owner was so kind to wait for 2 mins away from the location in a small square. Driving in and out of Monopoli to visit nearby towns was very easy and accessible with similar parking rule as mentioned above. Polignano a Mare was slightly trickier to park and eventually found one fairly central paying for 3 euros for 1hr30mins. The above info is for off-peak travellers as we visited in early October which was fantastic with no crowds. A breakfast voucher which was included within our stay and it was great since Cafe Roma was 1 min walk away and the staff was really nice. Note that Italian breakfast would normally consist of a coffee and a sweet pastry or cake. The property had a small well equipped kitchen for anyone wishing to cook and balcony and

Perfect stay in Monopoli. It is in the heart of historical city of Monopoli. There are plenty of places for dinner, drink nearby. Porto and beaches are just a few minutes away. The railway station is 10-15 minutes away. The owner of the apartment is very friendly and positive. We really enjoyed the stay. :)

HungaryThe kitchen could be a little bit better equipped. The wifi was not really strong. To find a parking spot was not easy at all. You really have to be lucky to find a good one nearby within a short time.
The location was great in the historical part of Monopoli. The flat was exactly as in the pictures. The host was really nice and helpful.

AustraliaNothing! It was amazing 😊
We had the best time in Monopoli. This property is in the best location possible. It was so close to the main piazza, the beaches and the city centre where you could catch the train or buses to do day trips. The room was lovely and so clean, in a cute street as well. We were welcomed by Cosima, we helped us organise an airport taxi. She provided us with everything needed, including a detailed map for where everything was. Cosima gave us tips for where to visits and the best ways to get around. The breakfast included was great and at a cute cafe down the street. We loved our stay at La Porta Vecchia Home and we highly recommend for anyone visiting Puglia.

United KingdomNothing it was great
Lovely comfortable apartment ideally located in the old town just a short walk to the beautiful old port. I arrived by train from Bari airport which was really easy. It’s a 10-15 minute walk from the station depending on how quick you walk. The kitchen area had everything I needed and there was access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. As a solo traveller I tend to cook an evening meal and stay in most evenings so having Netflix and YouTube on the TV was great. Cosima is lovely, very friendly and helpful. Monopoli is a lovely place and I intend to return and will definitely stay here again.
