How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Booked deluxe room with city view. Room did not match pictures. Pictures showed wrougt iron balcony with table. Our room did not have that. Only a window. Felt misleading . We overpaid for what we got. We expressed our concern and the owner said the Pictures were "representative". I paid a lot for the room in the picture. The over $400/night I paid was real (not representative) and I expected to get what I paid for. The bathroom was very small and once again not what was pictured for the Deluxe Room.. There was also a fowl smell in the common area by the elevator that everyone complained about.
Dear Thomas, This is all very absurd. We have your reservation for a Superior room with a view of the Duomo, and we assigned you that exact room. I don't know why you think you booked a Deluxe room. I want you to understand that WE GAVE YOU THE ROOM YOU BOOKED. In short, we're sorry it happened this way, but we certainly don't think we deserve this rating. Verified reviewThe location was brilliant the room just like the pictures and super clean. The room was soundproofed from the outside noise so we slept really well. The breakfast was good, the coffee and croissant fruit and yoghurt good way to start the day! And the staff - it’s been said before on here they were perfect!

Verified reviewLocation was amazing and the roof terrace with views of Florence and right outside the Duomo.
Small details like the shower caddy doesn't hold the bath products they offer. The shower itself needed maintenance to fix the buttons from sticking so we could use the rain head. The place is a little old on the outside but the room was comfortable.

Verified reviewThe location was great - Max 10-15 mins walk to any tourist attraction. It also has a rooftop with a nice view of Duomo to sit and relax. Access to the room was pretty easy, and the room itself was clean and had whatever you needed for a nice and relaxing stay!
The only thing that I can think about is a tray or something to hang your washed clothes to dry. We searched everywhere and couldn't find anything at all. Either it didn't have any or we couldn't find it. We also didn't like the included breakfast with our booking. We only had a coffee and a croissant and grabbed a water. Nothing against the B&B team, but you'll find way better options somewhere close by.

Verified reviewThis B& B is in the perfect location in the heart of the city above Prada with a beautiful elevator to get you up there. It also has a roof top terrace with views of the whole city, esp. the Duomo which is right across the street! The staff was accomodating and woderful, the room was gorgeous and we couldn't have been happier. There was plenty of room for three of us with and a big bathroom as well. The decor was beautiful and it was easy to walk to every part of the city from there. I would recommend La Terrazza Sul Duomo to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in Florence.

Verified reviewCan’t beat the location with a spectacular view from the rooftop terrace which is open 24 hrs. Rooms were spacious, bright and very clean. Bed and pillows so comfortable. Reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. Complimentary bottle of wine on arrival and free bottled water at breakfast each morning was appreciated. Great stay.

Verified reviewSo many great things to say! Firstly the location is incredible, couldn’t have stayed in a better spot to shopping and restaurants and of course the duomo. Second the rooftop terrace where you can see the whole city at any time! Amazing for sunsets. And then the room itself we loved the energy it was cute and spacious with high ceilings. We would highly recommend and would stay here again!
They made us pay for bath towels. We have a daughter and things can get messy and we asked for a new bath towel and they said it’s only given for free on the 3rd day. It’s only 2.50 euro and It’s very eco friendly policy we just didn’t know and never experienced that before, but maybe it’s a policy in Italy, not sure.

This property is not safe for children. The bedside table is felled down and my daught’s toe is smashed by the bedside table turns out we have to go to emergency and stay in hospital for surgery.
