Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesthe neighborhood has some rough edges...the building a bit run down, but in a charming way. I quite liked it, but getting to the property with bags over rough cobbled streets was tough and not suited for those with mobility issues
Super friendly and helpful staff. The room was light and large and comfortable. Everything worked, and best of all the price was great value. The location was very central and near some wonderful cafes and other nice things, but there is also some unsavory things in the immediate vicinity, that might be intimidating for a solo woman traveller or families with small kids. To be expected in a port I guess. I would definitely book again.

BelgiumOn our way to the apt we passed through some dodgy little streets, made me think i wasn't in a nice place, the administrator later explained what streets to use and it was perfect, maybe it should be included in the check in instructions to avoid that.
The apartment is so beautiful, you have a very nice view, the floors are stunning.. the rooms are big and comfortable with a very nice style. You have big sunny windows, that can shut down nicely for sleeping.

PolandAt night, a restaurant operates just below the property, and it can get quite loud. There is also a narrow street nearby where some locals can be noisy as well. I also missed having a small fridge in the room to store food or leftovers from restaurants. The same would apply for anyone who wants to prepare their own breakfast - there’s no place to keep items such as cheese or other perishables.
It was a very affordable place, perfectly located near the main tourist attractions of Genova. The view was amazing, and the rooms were truly stunning. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Each of us (we were a group of four) received our own set of two towels, and the bathroom was thoughtfully stocked, even with makeup remover pads. Overall, it was pretty much the perfect place for a city break in Genova.

HungaryThe beds were a bit uncomfortable, the street is very noisy (even through closed windows) and the street is also quite shady, would not recommend for ladies alone. The elevator is an adventure itself, but at least there is an elevator in the building.
Great style, quite unique and pretty. Close to the centre but also close to the shore. Staff is very kind.

United KingdomNice place, in good central location. It is called a “bed and breakfast,” but doesn’t serve breakfast. There are plenty of places nearby to go for breakfast though. The communal area has a kettle and basket of biscuits, snacks, etc. Venetian suite very nice, large bedroom and separate lounge area, both have good views over city. Interesting, historic building. There aren’t any staff living in site, you will be given a large bunch of keys to access the building, lift, B&B, plus your room.

AustraliaBathroom needs to be renovated. Lots of mould in the shower. Parking turned out to be too expensive even with the discount that we got at the property. We paid 78 Euros for 2,5 days. The neighborhood is a bit dodgy with prostitutes and smelly streets. We were two women with kids and were worried when returning back to the place after dark.
We loved the accommodation! We stayed in the Venetian room which was just beautiful. So grateful for air conditioning as we visited in August. The tiny elevator didn't bother us. Very close to the Marina and all the attractions. Chiara was lovely and very helpful with all our questions.

EstoniaDefinitely not a minus - but maybe should consider a small/ mini fridge in the room. Although there is a small fridge in the common area, so technically this is not a big issue. The appartment is on the 5th floor and the elevator is typically small - not a whining, just be prepared, especially if you travel with big luggage. On the other hand, it adds a charm and authentic Italian flavour to the appartment.
Great location: in the old town, yet short walking distance from all major attractions. Spacious - 2-room suite. Air-condition in both rooms (tremendously helping in the summer heat) Lovely and helpful hosts, very good communication and attentiveness Clean and neat

What a beautiful property! Rooms are spacious, bright and airy with lovely views across town from the many huge windows. Chiara, the host, was very welcoming and friendly and allowed an earlier check-in than stated on the booking. Extremely well located, in walking distance to all attractions, shops and cafes and the port. Rooms were spotlessly clean, well appointed and comfortable. The traditional decor made me feel like I was a local in proper Italy. Would highly recommend!

Le Cocole was a wonderful place to stay - the location is perfect and the room was beautifully furnished and styled and of extremely high cleaniless and very good value for money. It is wonderful to stay in such an historic building with many features that arent enjoyed as a tourist- I couldnt have wished for more.
