How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It would be convenient to have some shelf for toiletries in the shower.
The location is perfect - within 7 minutes walk from the city center where you can find lots of restaurants. The room was clean, it’s newly renovated and comfortable with central heating. There’s a fridge in the common area where you can leave some food.

The apartment is in a good location and was very clean. The apartment was as described and the Italian breakfast at a local cafe was very nice. It was useful to have a fridge and coffee machine in the kitchen. We would stay here again.

The property was very clean and modern and close to the centre. Our host was superb, gave us great recommendations within the local area and was super friendly. Great all round experience.

No cleaning service on first day but we got fresh towels on the second day Air conditioning unit went into fault during the night but we got it back working
Location is right beside the train and bus station! 5-6 minutes walk from the centre! Small shop and supermarket close by! Responsive host! Very clean and plenty of hot water! Good value for money! Quiet! Nice breakfast locations!

Great location not too far from the centre of Sorrento (just a 5/10 minute walk) with shops nearby, lovely and clean room, useful kitchen access and very friendly and helpful staff.

Everything was great!
We were greeted by THE most accommodating host who really was essential in making our experience in Sorrento a great one. The facilities were spotless and very comfortable and the location could not have been better. Stay here and you won’t be dissatisfied!

Total lack of soundproofing. There are 3 bedrooms within one large apartment and you could hear other guests showering, talking and singing at 3am!! Shared kitchen would be great if other guests don’t leave their dirty plates out continually.

It isn't a real hotel, so has none of the facilities of a hotel. It is a privately run wing of 3 rooms. The walls are thin so it is easy to hear the other guests. The breakfast was very low quality, and at a cafe down the road (not in the 'hotel' itself). The location meant we had to walk along the crowded and noisy main road to get anywhere, which wasn't particularly pleasant. For the money I would choose a hotel next time.
Modern room with huge comfy bed and a good amount of space. Very secure space (4 keys and a swipe card to enter!) Attentive staff.

The AC was working but low performance in getting the room cooled down.
The communication with the host was quick and clear. It was nice to have received the voucher for breakfast at a bar. The location is quite strategic when staying just a few nights. Overall the rooms are modern.

The cleaning lady came before 9am everyday waking me up and making noise in the kitchen. I was told parking would be 25 euros a day but it was 30 euros a day. The breakfast was 1 croissant and 1 coffee i was better off buying my own from the nearby supermarket. There was building works going on in the room below so sometimes during the day i would hear drilling.
Very good location near the centre of town and transport links.
