Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLots of stairs to climb. Specially during check-in and check-out with the luggage. No elevator.
Nice and clean property. Right in the center of historic downtown. We walked from the railway station to the property. Within walking distance to all the key attractions. Even though in the heart of activities, room was quiet when you close the windows which had three layers to keep the noise out.

United KingdomThe continental breakfast was a bit average for most guests, but we don't have big fry ups, so it was fine for us. Took it as the continental experience.
Perfect location with so many restaurants and souvenir options on your doorstep. The Suite we stayed in felt decadent and quirky at the same time. The bodywash in the shower smelt lovely, and I used it every day instead of my own. Guesthouse was easy to find on arrival, check in/check out a seemless process. Tea and coffee facilities and mini bar with cold drink options (payable on check out). There's a little supermarket just up the road to buy fresh milk for your room. Staff were very pleasant.

United Kingdomonly that I had to leave, would have stayed there for much longer
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at N4U Guest House. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the main attractions on foot. Despite being so central, the soundproof windows ensured a peaceful and quiet night’s sleep, which was a huge plus. The building itself is beautiful, full of character and charm, and the rooms (third floor, but no lift) are just as lovely—elegantly decorated, spotlessly clean, and with a fresh, pleasant scent that made the whole place feel so welcoming. The attention to detail in the decor really adds to the overall experience. Check-in was a breeze, even outside of regular hours, thanks to their easy and efficient system. The host was warm, friendly, and very helpful. Breakfast is available and while it’s simple, it’s fresh and tasty—just what you need to start the day. Honestly, I can’t fault this place at all. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I’ll definitely be back!

United KingdomThis hotel did not disappoint. Staff was professional and courteous. The room was a shown in the images and it was clean, by far the most amazing thing about this guesthouse is its location! A stone throw from the basilica and in the midst of all the restaurants and wine windows. Definitely will recommend to anyone that asks.

Perfectly located by the Duomo the rooms give you a wonderful base to see the sights of Florence, the breakfast is very good and the staff are so welcoming. The rooms are spacious and have lovely ambience, because you are so close to everything you can come back to the apartment to freshen up before heading out for the evening. I highly recommend the apartment and would definitely stay again, it truly made our stay memorable.

United KingdomLots and lots of steps so this could be an issue for some. We heard the bin men around midnight each night on the street but after that it was fairly quiet. I’m coeliac and although there were rice cakes and muffins at brekkie it would have been lovely to have some gf bread to toast.
Excellent location, really comfy spacious room, super clean, nice shower & useful mini fridge.

South AfricaThere was nothing that I can think off.
It is super clean, soft linnen, and the best location to move out in the morning, come back when it is too hot outside and then go again around 18h00 to explore Firenze and go for a late dinner. Currently it is only dark after 21h00 so you eat late. This is the second time I stayed here and will go back again. I preferred the New York room I stayed in before but the twin room was more affordable and perfect for what you need. The stairs was good exercise and nothing to complain about. I am not all that fit but I managed well. The breakfast was lovely, a special cappuccino, freshly squeezed orange juice, more than enough. When I mentioned that I loved the Pistachio croissants I had there before, they were so kind to save some for me every day, thank you to the kind people running N4Y.

United StatesNo elevator so be ready to climb up the stairs with your luggage. Also, there was a bad oily smell that came up from the hardwood floor painting. We asked the manager about it right when we arrived but he said it is what it is and he couldn’t help with a fan or ventilation.
Location is amazing! Close to all the important and interesting sites in Florence in a short walking distance. Room was clean, staff were friendly and organized. The bed was comfortable, the place was secure.

United KingdomThe check-in machine malfunction occurred when we arrived but the host was very responsive and did his best to solve it. You need to climb a bit of the stairs to reach the hotel indeed but it’s worth it to live in an ancient building and good hotel like this.
All the staff are very friendly and professional, the housekeeper and the cleaner are both very nice and always trying to help. The breakfast was delicious and the room was beautiful and clean. The location is also superb, in the middle of everywhere. Good view from the window.

United KingdomDue to the age and construction of the building, there isn’t a lift, so we had to carry our heavy bags up 5 flights of stairs on a very hot day. If we return again, we will pack lighter. Whilst it is lovely, it is not suitable or accessible for the elderly or disabled
An absolutely stunning building. Exceptionally clean, clean comfortable bed with crisp white cotton sheets and a beautiful bathroom. Raffaele contacted me well in advance to give check in instructions and was there to greet us on arrival. A very lovely, helpful man. A very nice breakfast, continental, help yourself, assisted by a helpful lady serving coffee and tea
