If you have mobility problems you can't get a taxi to the door, you have to walk the final part of the way, with your luggage. Not a problem for us, but worth noting if you find walking difficult. There is a lift in the property.

The location is right in the centre of Sorrento, in one of the little roads and alleyways which are full of shops and restaurants. You are in the middle of everything but the room was still quiet at night. The furniture is original and the house has been in the same family since the 1850s, so expect charm and uniqueness - not a modern, bland apartment! We didn't manage to visit the family's restaurant on the ground floor, but it looked lovely. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We loved it all.

Be sure to follow booking directions to not go to old taverna Sorrentino Restaurant rather than Old Taverna Sorrentino Hotel. And restaurant. If driving park at Ulysses and walk from there. They no longer offer free breakfast. We’d probably rate it 9.2 overall.

Fantastic location on narrow pedestrian street. Easily walk to most of central Sorrento. Comfortable old building. Good bed. We liked PortoMarina Restaurant at Marina Grande, a moderate walk away.

Be aware: The bathroom has a small, corner shower which was fine for us but could be challenging for larger people. The toilet seat did not match the toilet bowl in size (I hope they update this).

What a beautiful and fun place in the heart of Sorrento. The bed was comfy. Our host was super sweet and informative. You step outside to literally the thrum of the city center of shops and food and activity. So delightful.

It was a bit difficult to find - and if you're walking from the train/bus station, don't follow the map that takes you along the tiny narrow laneways. Go along the Main Street and drop down, otherwise you'll face the wrath of the crowds of tourists wandering the shops and laneways.

Our host was fantastic; very helpful, very friendly, and part of the family that owns the restaurant downstairs so you always get a big hello. The room was large and comfy.

We had one very noisy neighbor that was verbally fighting with her spouse early one morning waking us all up! However, it also made it part of the overall experience. Also, the light switch for going up the stairs didn’t work consistently. We used the stairs more than the lift, but the lift worked fine.

The room was nicely appointed per the online pictures. The hostess was very nice and accommodating! The location was awesome, right in the heart of the shopping (e.g. 2 floors above). There were plenty of activities near by to include volumes of shops and restaurants. And, the lemons in Sorrento are amazing! We had a lemon shop (I.e. huge lemon gelatos served in the lemon rind) immediately below us! Very convenient! Beach access for just over 2 Euros (round trip) was just a short walk away and the lift to/from the beach area eliminated the steep climbs.

The facilities in the bathroom is what probably let the accommodation down. After a shower there was a bit of water leaking onto the floor and the bath tub itself needed a bit of attention. It could also do with a toilet seat of the correct size. Really though, these were fairly minor problems.

Loved the location. We are late 60s and walk okay. For us everything was in easy walking distance. So many restaurants were very close. The owner was lovely and very helpful. Yes it is an old building so yes some things needed attention but everything worked and we only had minor problems. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor which created a bit of mould and the electricity went out once but the owners were quick to respond!

Charming property in the heart of Sorrento, yet very quiet room. Loved the traditional ceramics tiles and decor, the room was so authentic and made us love our stay in the Amalfi Coast even more.

Everything! Location puts you in the heart of the old town of Sorrento. Owned and run by a family who have been here for generations, they also own the restaurant and gelato store on either side of inn, along with a cooking school. All facilities are over the top amazing. Great love and pride are taken with each. While staying at Old Taverna Sorrentina, you are treated like family. Decor was beautiful restored antiques, all creating an amazing ambiance that takes on the very special aura of Sorrento. Stay was absolute perfection. Could not ask for more!

It was difficult to drive to. They told us about a parking lot nearby, but a map of where it was would have helped us.

Right in the middle of all the shopping and restaurants. We arrived late because of insane traffic into the city, and the host was quite concerned. Another couple, who were also guests, saw us coming up the lane with our luggage, and greeted us, saying that the were worried about us, too! There was a card and some balloons in the room when we got there, commemorating our 50th anniversary! So thoughtful!

We stayed in the Superior Suite and it was huge! The location is perfect for exploring Sorrento and it’s around a ten minute walk to the port. Fantastic decor (traditional Italian), HUGE bed, and great air con. Maria was an excellent host, very helpful and friendly. Hard to fault in any way! Would absolutely stay here again!
