How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was a nice room in a central location, with two small balconies and all facilities, including a kettle and air con. I loved that there was a fridge in the room so we could keep some milk for our coffee. The coffee machine was just outside our room in the hall. The owner was very obliging and helpful throughout our stay and stayed in regular communication. They ask if you want the room serviced, and they don't enter without your permission, but do respond promptly if you need anything. The central location was handy as everything of interest was in easy walking distance - shops, museums, beach, restaurants etc. There is lots to see and do in Reggio. The Riace bronzes in the Archaeological Museum are well worth a visit. Sicily (Messina) is only a half hour ferry ride away, so plenty more options there.
Unrelated to the hotel: The central location is great, but means it does get very noisy at the weekend at night. Take ear plugs! The beach wasn't the best. It is mostly shingle and there was a lot of debris lying around as well, so beach/swim shoes are advisable. Also, it can be quite difficult to find information about cultural events - there was some sort of arts festival on (there was a stage by the Athena monument) but we couldn't find any information about it. There is no public transport to the airport between 7pm and 7am, so book an Uber or other transfer if you have an early or late flight.

Verified reviewThe room was clean and comfortable
The location is on a side street going uphill so need to drag luggage up. Also many steps up to get into the room.

Verified reviewVery good location in the city center and close to the beach. The room was very clean and tidy. The room has two small balcony. Perfect choice to spend few days in the city.
Just a little thing. The room could use a small clothes dryer that can be put out on the balcony after a beach day. This is not important, but it will be good.

Verified reviewPERFECT location! Owners are very responsive on WhatsApp, despite it being a remote/automated situation. Upon arrival, you press a button on the intercom to get in the building and they also buzz you into the room. There is a set of physical keys and a convenient key fob. Bed was comfortable. Heater unit worked great in December. WiFi tested 400 mbps, VERY FAST. I was working 6pm to 3am so I appreciated it. The chair was a bit uncomfortable, but this place would be perfect for a digital nomad. LOVED the balconies and all the light! Best shower, spacious, lots of hot water and good pressure. I was in heaven. The place was SUPER-CLEAN and BRAND NEW! I actually extended a night it was so nice! I paid around 55 euro per night. If it's available, book it ASAP!
10am checkout and someone was knocking at 9:30am! I was off to catch the ferry anyway, but heads-up!

Verified review- Recently renovated bed & breakfast right in Reggio's city center. Room and bathroom are stylishly decorated, lots of space in both of them. - Everything was neatlessly clean. - Conveniently located, all major sights of the Corso/Lungomare area are within walking distance. - Breakfast (one choice of coffee and pastry per person) in a bar some 30 metres away included. - Check-in procedure (all doors were opened remotely by the owner/manager) at first sight a bit anonymous and confusing, but in the end everything worked fine and there were no problems.
- The rooms are on the first floor of a rather busy street right in Reggio's city center, so yes, inevitably you will hear some noise from the street. We stayed there on a night from Monday to Tuesday at the end of September and after 22:00, 22:30 the traffic stopped almost completely and the next morning, from what I remember, did not start extremely early either. So we found it absolutely acceptable, When staying there on a weekend it might be a different story I suppose. - There is a very bright shining street latern in Via Giulia though which I personally found more annoying. Windows extend the whole way from the floor to the ceiling. Even though they can be covered entirely by curtains, a few uncovered centimeters at the floor and top level are enough for this latern to light up the dark room at night considerably. So maybe investing in blackout curtains would be a good idea. No private/free parking opportunities nearby. Strisce blu (where you have to pay) parking spots are available all around the accomodation. The period where you have to pay is from 07:30 to 19:30, if I remember correcty, and is just 1 Euro per hour, so it was no big deal for us. - Personally I found the pillows a bit too high and hard, but that's just personal preferences.

Verified reviewKindness and always availability to help. Well cleaned.
More small optional details may be needed: hungers in the bathroom, better hairdryer, a boiler and a coffee machine would be appreciate either in the room or in the small open space. Also, a lugguage deposit would also help.

Verified reviewClean, newly renovated and amazing staff. Great for families or couples. We have a young baby and they supplied a great cot & high chair. Paolo helped carry our bags up (there were many). Marzia is contactable all the time on WhatsApp for whatever you need. It’s very close to the beach, main shopping street and lots of places to eat. But still very quiet for sleeping at night or napping in the day. Breakfast is not listed as included but we were given a free breakfast everyday at their partner cafe/bar Miva just down the street which was super convenient. They were flexible at check-in & check-out. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Only negative is 2 flights of stairs to the first level of rooms but if you ask you can get help with bags.
