How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt was clean, bathroom was renovated, beds were comfortable. The hosts were very kind, welcoming, and accommodating! They even had gluten and dairy free options for me for breakfast, and an espresso machine with milk frother! Such a treat :)
Location was slightly outside the core in Florence but still within walking distance

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Florence! The hotel is surprisingly large, very clean, and well-maintained. Our room was spotless and comfortable. A real highlight was the quiet atmosphere, especially at night, ensuring a great night's sleep. We also loved the small garden - it was a lovely, peaceful spot to relax in after a day of sightseeing. The location is very convenient. All the major attractions are within a comfortable 15-20 minute walk. From the train station, it was easy to reach by bus, with the bus stop less than 200 meters away. The simple breakfast provided in the morning (with bread, jam, milk, and coffee) was perfect to start our day. The neighborhood felt safe and secure, and we never had any concerns walking back to the hotel in the evening. Overall, a wonderful experience and great value for money. We would definitely stay here again!

Verified reviewThe property was amazing. Everything was of the highest quality. The room was exceptionally clean and the hot tub bath was just amazing. The owners were so nice and so helpful and solved a vry important taxi problem for us. I couldn’t recommend this property more strongly as I said it is absolutely amazing and if I go back to Florence I would book it again.

Verified reviewWe really liked the treatment we received from Mrs. Giovanna; she was very kind and explained everything to us. The room exceeded our expectations for the price. We were grateful for the snacks that Mrs. Giovanna left for us, which included bread, jam, cookies, coffee, milk, water, and cereal. It is perfect if you are traveling as a couple without small children. If you are young, the location will be perfect for visiting the tourist spots, and the park right in front is very peaceful.

Verified reviewExceptionally beautiful and clean. The entire place smells soo good, so warm. I felt at home. It was close to everything I had to do. A few minutes walk to restaurants, the duomo and the famous oldest farmacia in the city . Just lovely !!! I have zero regrets!
The bathroom sink . Water just spills in around the corner.

The apartment was very clean and we were welcomed at the start of the trip, everything was great, the shower is incredible! Beautiful building and is close enough to everything, 25 min walk really (horrendous with cases though and locals)
Please can apartments start supplying an iron, my pet hate, just provide a travel iron. It would also have been good to know prior to booking that your balcony is shared and not your own, big detail left out when booking, thought we had our own private balcony but shared
First of all, thank you for your nice review and the time you took. I must point out, however, that I don't understand the complaint about the iron, as you had one provided, placed inside the cupboard, as I showed you right away, at check-in, when I explained all the facilities. As for the question raised about the 'balcony', apart from the fact that nowhere is it written that it is 'private', I do not think it is possible to trust the expectation that a facility has a private garden for each room...., a garden that can only have access from a balcony and/or opening to the outside (obviously also shared). Allow me to comment that it would be like expecting to enter the facility from a private ''lobby". Best regards

Verified reviewThe room is located in a beautiful old palazzo. It was spacious and comfortable, and very close to the city center with all the main sights within walking distance. The area is great and feels safe, right across from a lovely green park. There are nice cafés nearby where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast. The hosts provide a small kitchen bar with the possibility to make coffee, tea, and even toast. However, we preferred the nearby café.
The room was very nice and clean, although it seems the dust on top of the bed’s headboard may have been overlooked during cleaning for some time.
