Not so much a case of didn’t like but visitors should be aware that the stairs in this property are steep. Might not suit someone with mobility issues. Avoid coming with large suitcases!

In all my years of travel I cannot remember a better experience in terms of owner warmth and hospitality. The location is absolutely perfect for everything going on in Tropea. The room was spotlessly clean and maintained daily. The breakfast was fantastic as well.

The other side of the coin with being in the center of the city is the street noise. Tropea is very festive and that is well into the night. But with that being said, if you close the windows and turn on the A/C, that will filter out the majority of the street noise.

Our hosts, Biagio and Sharon, are EXCELLENT people who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They arranged a couple of excursions for us which turned out to be great. They gave us the lay of the land so we knew how to get around Tropea. They arranged an affordable transfer for us from/to the airport in Lamezia Terme which was extremely convenient. They are both very polite and very friendly... excellent hosts. Breakfast was very good with croissants, bread, jam, ham and other deli meats, cheeses, melon, olives, ricotta, cereals, etc. They provide you with coffee, cappuccino, juice, etc. Breakfast is buffet style. The B&B is very clean. It is also very conveniently located in the center of the city. Restaurants, cafes, geletarias, the beach, the port, etc. are ALL walkable from this B&B. The housekeeping was AMAZING! We were very impressed with the young lady who took GREAT care of our room while we were there. Great accommodations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The stay at Portercole certainly lived up to expectations. Couldn't have asked for any more from the hosts, Sharon & Biagio. They were engaging & made me feel very comfortable with all requests met with a warm smile. Highly recommend this place for your stay - you won't regret it!

It was perfectly centrally situated, it was absolutely charming yet modern at the same time, spotlessly clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the hosts could not have been more kind.

I don’t usually write many reviews but this B&B definitely deserves one. Everything was perfect and I felt like home. The hospitality was one of the best I ever had. I will come back next time!

The property was clean, well kept, and a really great location. My dad and I would definitely come back when we return to Tropea. Sharon and Biagio were friendly, thoughtful and incredibly helpful :)

Biagio and Sharon are excellent hosts, friendly and attentive to the guests needs. The room was spotless clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of fresh fruit, cheese, yogurt and lots of homemade pastries. They also provided a car park that is a bonus in the historic centre of the town.

Nothing, everything was perfect

Everything! Excellent location, close to train station and old town. The owners were super friendly and extremely helpful, especially with recommendations and excursions. The room was fabulous, well equipped with everything that you would need for your holiday and the attention to detail was second to none. Everything was of the highest quality. There was a wide selection of delicious food for breakfast, eggs cooked upon request with fantastic service. Highly recommended!

Best location, easy to reach even by car. In front of the hotel there is a coffe shop which belongs to the hotel. It was nice to have breakfast there where we where treated like a king.

Thanks to hotel owners from the start we had a filling that we kjnow each other. They tried to to the best to HAD A GOOD stay at Tropea, Sure we need to come back.

The property was immaculate, charming, and in the most perfect location ever right in the center of Tropea, surrounded by all you can imagine and yet still quiet and peaceful!! And Biagio and Sharon are such kind and welcoming hosts. I didn’t want to leave and I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!

Due to the fact that there are many steps with higher than normal risers, it could be a challenge for some people.

The location was perfect. The breakfast was outstanding every morning with such friendly staff at the cafe! Samuele was so enjoyable to chat with and made us us smile everyday. Sharon & Biagio were outstanding hosts and extremely helpful with everything to make our 4-day stay in Tropea the absolute best!
