Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot sure if the staff was trying to cover up a smell or simply make the space feel more pleasant, but we were greeted by a very strong scent when we walked in. It took a while to air out and was a bit uncomfortable. My suggestion would be to use less fragrance, as some guests might be sensitive to strong scents.
The location was very good. It was centrally located and a walking distance to main attractions. Easy to find and check in. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was plenty of room to move around.

United KingdomOn the listing it says there is breakfast available. This wasn't clear and we were told we could add it for 10eu per person by the host on arrival. We decided to just go out and find a cafe nearby which worked out cheaper.
Great central location five minutes walk from the train station and the cathedral. Great restaurants and cafes nearby. Wonderful old building with beautiful features. Our room had a mezzanine with sofa bed upstairs for the children. Very clean and lovely bathroom with new shower. Host very helpful.

United StatesExtremely dated. Furniture filthy with stains all over. I asked about luggage storage and was told it was provided. Then I was told to leave my luggage in the common hallway--not secure. Bathroom was tiny. Large step up to use the toilet.
Room was large with upstairs loft. Fridge, coffee maker & microwave. Our teen loved having her own area upstairs. Getting into the property was explained well. Great location.

United KingdomMajority of the photos taken are of the communal hall area not the room. Actual room quite grubby and overall not high standard. Bed very uncomfortable and loud during morning as construction work ongoing from a very early time. If anything taller than 5’7 you will struggle with the shower as ridiculously small and short. No information received for self-check in until around 1 hour before arrival after pushing several times. All self check in so no human presence at all, was simple and easy to find though.
Perfect location to be central and very close to train station. Communal area lovely and feels safe.

RomaniaThe only thing that wasn’t nice was the shower water would run hot and cold, so during one shower it would start hot, then go ice cold, then go hot again, do the heat was inconsistent.
It’s very large, basically more like an entire flat than just a hotel room.

United KingdomThere are building works nearby at the moment (May 2025). Some of the mornings they started at 6am. Apartment has kitchen facilities: kettle, coffee pod machine and microwave but just be aware they only supply plastic knife and forks and cardboard beakers. It would have been nice to have a few proper cups, a couple of plates and proper cutlery.
Very close to city centre and station. Decor. It did feel like we were staying in an old palace Staff was very helpful. Providing us with an extra sheet ( duvet was too warm) and pillows.

AustraliaThere is no human interaction, it felt like a big brother house which i found unsettling. At checkin you get a whatsapp message with instructions on how to access the building and then the room, which is all remote access through codes for building and then room door. There is no on site reception should you have issues, you need to call. You also have to send copies of your id documents over whatsapp to complete checkin, which given sensitivity of personal information on a passport or drivers licence, made me uncomfortable as you dont know who is on other end of the whatsapp and exactly what they do with your document after you send it. All other hotels asked to see our ID documents at check in but none took copies! It was fine for 1 night as i was travelling with my boyfriend, but i wouldnt have felt safe/comfortable if i was travelling alone
The building is very cool, a lot of character and history. The room was very unique with mezzanine area and the kitchen was stored away in built in cupboards. The location is great, easy to get to station but also to the centre of town, nice and quiet at night

Switzerland- For smokers, it might be a bit inconvenient as the only option is to go out onto the street, but this is absolutely fine and respected. There is no balcony, terrace, or sitting place by the entrance, but it was not a big problem! A benefit is that you can watch the street life while smoking! -The price is comparatively high, but it’s the heart of Florence, and the experience of staying in the historical palazzo is well worth it! - The residence has no private parking, but they easily arrange it for you with the near by Garage for the discount fee!
Special place in a historical palazzo in the heart of Florence, where you can feel the centuries-long stories of its former owners! The apartment is comfortable and spacious, featuring some antique design and details (like the antic mosaic floor and the tapestry) that add to the charm. We stayed in a two-room apartment, and each room had an additional mezzanine with cozy sitting spaces accessible by a staircase. The selling is around 5 m high! The old-style, big windows in both rooms faced the inner garden, so it was quiet and peaceful. The small, hidden kitchen was equipped with a coffee machine, microwave, and kettle, making it easy to prepare simple meals. This former “noble floor” residence has been converted into several apartments, maintaining its historical character while providing modern amenities. The historical background of the building is fascinating, once belonging to famous Florentine families and well known Italian personalities (but not the Medici). There is a small but well-stocked supermarket conveniently located next door. The location is absolutely SUPERB! You are in the very heart of Florence, with lovely restaurants offering amazing local food just 2-5 minutes away and 5-8 min away from the Duomo di Firenze! - Very easy check in per What‘s up! Fast and reliable support from the staff also per What’s up, like arrangement of a parking place, advices of the restaurants etc!
