How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We stayed 1 night. Everything was great. They dont have private parking, but recommended Park Marina Porto Antico (~5 min walking). Also they offered a discount on parking. Friendly staff, not self check-in, but they work really fast and good. All in all, safe space, the building is also safe and clean. Recommend!

No permanence at the reception; so other visitors nocked on three different occasions at the door 232 that is located in the reception room. A ‘private’ mark would help. Still quite a lot of street noise on the 4th level.

Quite hard to find the property and can’t get a taxi to the door cause of the narrow streets of Genoa
Beautiful property, amazing high ceilings and shared space. We didn’t have our daughter with us but noticed they had a few toys in the shared space with was a nice touch if you were travelling with a little one

The bathroom was lovely and clean. Point of attention is the moist - despite the ventilation system.

Beautiful building with really high ceilings. Parking had to be done in a public car park at additional cost. A bit of a mission to find the "hotel" inside the buildung.

TV not smart TV and no English channels
Large, comfortable rooms with ample storage space. Large, clean bathroom with good shower but little storage. Rooms easily accessible with two working lifts in building. Staff easy to contact if required and met us at the door when we arrived. Approx 20 min walk to Genova Principe (main train station) and easy access to nice restaurants and attractions.

Had to make tea/coffee in common area. Would have been better in room. Lots of noise of doors banging and other guests on stairs at night. Genoa old town feels a bit unsafe at night with lots of dark alleys.
Spacious and luxurious room that was serviced daily.

The heating was centrally controlled and it was far too hot. I had trouble sleeping. We were told it was 21 degrees but I was sweating and uncomfortable all night. The lack of staff on the property is something I personally don't like. I think I prefer a more traditional hotel set-up with a manned reception, but this was fine for one night.

A shelf to place things upon in bathroom. A microwave would have also been nice. I would love to stay here again. Thank you.
The receptionist young lady was helpful, pleasant and welcoming! What an extraordinary building! We were unexpectedly upgraded and that was so nice! Room was pleasant, comfortable. Kitchen provided a coffee/tea maker, fridge, iron, stove top and fridge. Dishes, too. So very quiet.

The location of the property was good, near the port. The room was spotless clean and with all needed ammenities for a very short trip. The location was quiet and we had an excellent sleep. I would recommend to look in advance for a parking spot or garage. The closest location we found was Ponto Antico and it ended up being around 40E for 24 hours.

The area at night felt very unsafe. We had to leave for the train station at 6:00 am but thankfully, the staff was able to request a cab for us the day before, so we didn’t have to walk the streets before sunrise. During the daytime, the area felt safe.
Breakfast? I didn’t know there was breakfast! I liked the room but the bidet wasn’t working and there was only one tiny waste paper basket.
