How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff were extremely friendly and super helpful. The facilities were also very clean & tidy. The hotel breakfast was simple but tasty. The location is great - an easy walk into Trastevere and other site/landmarks were an easy tram away.

Absolutely stunning accomodation nestled into a beautiful part of the outer city district. The room was spacious & accomodation facilities and amenities were top grade and Omar who checked us in was so welcoming and helpful. The area has amazing food and bars and is a nice walk away from all the beloved monuments of Rome.

I booked this property on booking.com. I read the entire booking confirmation and I printed it and brought it with me. There was never a mention in my booking of a 50euro fee for late check in. There was a strike on the evening we arrived and protestors were on the train tracks so we were delayed 5 hours as we waited for the conflict to resolve. It is not fair to add in a fee AFTER the original booking which made no mention of it. I even asked the attendant to take a photo of my printed booking to prove there was no mention of it. I believe they have added it on booking.com now and tried to tell me it was there all along. That felt shady.
The property was clean, comfortable, and lovely. It was nice to have water and coffee available. The Testaccio neighborhood was charming.

I had a great stay at Vespucci Palace. The hotel had elevators, room was large and very clean, and had all the luxury amenities in the room! Location is connected to tram and bus, so travelling to the main attractions isn't a big problem. The staff (Omar & Waseem) were extremely polite and helpful, they accommodated my early check-in and late check-out and also helped me with places I could visit. The breakfast spread was great with coffee available at all times! They also allowed me to carry some breakfast on the day of check-out which was a very kind gesture. Prices felt higher considering the location outside the central area, but it was well worth it and would definitely recommend to my friends.

Not a minus per se, but something to keep in mind: no nice view, very small breakfast/ reception nook (more like serviced apartment than hotel vibe), breakfast is quite modest by Italian standards and no freshly made coffee (office-style machine)

Perfect location. Just far enough away from main attractions to provide a Sanctuary in between walks and exploration, however close enough to be very convenient. Perfectly clean, fresh, attractive and comfortable accommodation. Hosts were lovely and very helpful, offering advice & assistance. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Rome, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

Testsccio is just on the edge of tourist area. Check out if this is where you want to be. You would not get this level of accommodation in the centre at anywhere near the price. Just use the bus or metro

The breakfast and reception was right outside our door so we were able to hear the noise in the morning. Luckily we woke up early every day so this didn’t change our plans but couples who like to sleep in may find this annoying.

Concierge was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Certainly felt like valued guests. Loved access to sparkling water and coffee machines. Breakfast was great too - fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt, juice, tea etc. Modern, well appointed room with soft towels and comfy bed!
