日本3 則評語「Beautiful traditional ryokan with great hospitality」It is somewhat convenient to the nearby train lines, but keep in mind it is quite south of the main tourist areas. This was great because the neighborhood was quiet, but a lot of our sightseeing required a train transfer. For us, this trade-off was worth it.
The breakfast was lovely and it was a pleasure getting to talk with the chef and get recommendations of things to see in town. The building itself was full of history and traditional charm but it still had modern comforts. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Kyoto.

The host is very friendly and provides delicious breakfasts in the bar also located on the property. The bar is only for the guests and is historically the old post office. We loved our stay.

It was a lovely experience to live in a 200 years old traditional machiya. I was skeptical at first, but the house was neatly renovated, making it very comfortable to live in. The location was perfect (3 minutes from the station). The owner of the house, who lives next door was very friendly. He introduced us to many local specialties, especially the local Sake (桃の???) was absolutely delicous.
