Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe location was fantastic. The house is beautiful, and the room, though small, was very practical and thoughtfully designed. The owners were incredibly kind and did their best to assist us, even with the language barrier. The garden was charming and beautifully decorated. We truly enjoyed our one-night stay and would absolutely recommend this place!

United StatesI highly recommend this place. The hanok was clean, equipped with all amenities. Our stay was very comfortable and gave us a feel of traditional hanok. We especially want to shout out the hosts! They went above and beyond with exceptional hospitality. The day we arrived it was late night and all restaurants were about to close. They waited for us and dropped us to a bulgogi place before it closed. It was a especially busy weekend and we could not get transport to go back to seoul on our way back. The hosts arranged bus tickets for us and taxi to bus stand. With the language barrier it would have been difficult for us to manage this on our own but they cared for us like their personal guests. We will take back good memories and unparalleled hospitality from our Korea trip.

United KingdomNothing. The place was perfect and amazing value for money.
The hanok is beautiful inside and out. Its in a quiet area just a short walk from the old town and sights like the Woljeonggyo bridge and the Cheomseongdae Observatory. The hanok has everything you need: small kitchenette, comfy beds and a television. We had a simple but delicious breakfast and fresh linen each day. We slept amazingly well as the beds and pillow wer comfortable and it was super quiet at night. The bath was also HUGE and a real piece of luxury. What really made the place special was the kind and accommodating hosts. It's clear that they really care about their home and want you to make yourself comfortable. They showed us around the hanok and made sure we knew how to work the AC etc. They then also provided us with a map of the local area and highlighted all the sights. They made sure we knew where we were going and if we needed any help. It felt like nothing would be too much to ask. Would 100% come back.

FinlandWe didn’t mind it, but there’s about 15 min walk to town and 10 min walk to the food street and cultural village, if you don’t travel with a car. Nice restaurants around the hanok as well.
Owners were super friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The place was beautiful and clean, very comfy! Would definitely stay again!

IrelandNothing, everything was really nice!
Hosts were lovely and very friendly. First day they gave us recommendation of places to visit and were to eat. Location was very close to the centre and the main shopping road and the main attractions of the town. In an area very peacefull, quiet and calm. Place was super neat and clean. I loved the duvet, soft and silky. Small kitchen to do your own things, breakfast (amazing bread, fruit, yoghourt and juice) was left in the fridge for next day. And a cold water dispenser which is great for the hot weather. Definetly recommend staying here.

RussiaNothing bad, the only thing, if you are 190-200 cm high there can be a bit uncomfortable to sit in the restroom. I'm 173, it was completely fine.
It was an amazing stay, the place is very quiet and peaceful. Especially nice is chilling in the evening in the backyard ;) it's nicely decorated and super clean. The town is steeped in history, but you probably already know it if you decided to go to Gyeongju ;) The host has a friend Sumin, who can do a private whole day tour (a bit expensive, but very nice). The host is super welcome, all in all, after 3 days there we both feel like we visited grandma and grandpa ;)

GreeceA Perfect Hanok Experience in Gyeongju! Everything was absolutely perfect from the moment we arrived. The couple who runs the place were incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming. The hanok itself was beautifully maintained—authentic, peaceful, and full of character. Our room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The location was not a problem at all—it’s easy to access the main sights in Gyeongju either by a short drive or even a pleasant walk. The peaceful atmosphere around the hanok made it feel like a true retreat, yet we never felt far from anything

United StatesThis Hanok is hosted by a lovely couple who are friendly, accommodating and adorable. The Hanok is clean and well maintained, cozy, and comfortable. The location is within walking distance to downtown Gyeongju where you can find shopping, restaurants and cafes. It’s also nearby many historical sites such as: Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, Cheomseongdae Observatory, the Woljeonggyo Bridge, the Daerungwon Ancient Tombs and more. My wife and I stayed for one night and wish we could’ve stayed for longer. We had zero complaints and would highly recommend this stay to any and everyone!

Beautiful property, exactly what we were looking for when we wanted to stay in a hanok-style place. This place seems newly built and everything was very clean. The room was spacious and we had an in-room spa-sized bath. The owners are so friendly and cute. Breakfast is provided, they leave it right inside the door the night before. It is walking distance to “downtown” Gyeongju where the restaurants and attractions are.
