Great hotel and excellent host. Staying here has been the highlight of my trip to Korea. I received excellent communication from Hwarang Guesthouse. I found the beds very comfortable, the rooms are very clean and spacious. Location is perfect, walking distance to many historic attractions, public transport, restaurants, shopping and convenience stores. Junhee the owner helped me plan my days in Gyeongju to make sure I was able to see all the sights. She recommended some very good local restaurants with delicious food. This place is hidden gem! I will stay here next time in Gyeongju.

The location was perfect and the staff so so helpful, with maps readily available and directions at hand too. It was lovely to have a chat and learn about the area as well and know the spots to visit. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. The space in the common area and bedrooms was spacious. The en-suite bathroom was great too, everything clean and tidy. Really recommend.

Junny gave a real personalized check-in experience. Gave me tons of information on arrival. The guesthouse is simple but functional, it is exactly what it needs to be. Around it there are some nice restaurants and it is close to good transport and sightseeing options. Comfortable and clean bed. Good hot water. Nothing went missing.

Junny is an excellent host and provides some really useful information about where to go and where to eat. The accomodation has everything you need if you plan on being out for the day. The room is very clean and new towels are provided every day. The guesthouse is a short walk from the main historical site and a variety of other attractions, restaurants and bars. There are also regular buses from the end of the road.

Junny was really a great host! She knew a lot about how to move around all the city and the surroundings and was really prepared, for example, about the exact time in which was better to take that bus. She really helped me a lot in seeing the best of Gyeongju and some things outside I didn’t know about. She also helped me a lot in finding a notebook I had lost and I really am grateful to her! The room was nice and comfortable. Everything was written down (also in English!) and all the instructions were really clear, even for foreigners, a thing I found it difficult to find in other places in South Korea.

The location of this hostel is amazing and the room was very clean and comfortable. I could walk or bus everywhere very easily. It was so nice that there was a simple breakfast available, too! Junny the host was so friendly and knowledgeable. She helped me plan out my stay so I could see everything in the time I had. Would highly recommend!

Great location, walking distance to most of attractions , food and intercity bus terminal /stops. The host explains the attractions and advises the best time to catch the bus to the temple . Much appreciated as it saves time to connecting shuttle

Walking distance to Gyeongju's main attractions. Located in a small alley which makes it quiet. Restaurants, shops, cafes, bus stops around. Cosy guesthouse. Very clean. Despite the fact that the guesthouse has existed for 10 years, it looks fresh and new. The room is comfortable and facilities as per Korean standards. Junny was a precious source of information and planned our entire sightseeing day with impressive precision and efficiency. Great local restaurant recommendations. I would surely stay there again.

Junny the owner with her husband truly is the heart of this place. She was so generous with her recommendations which were all amazing! She really is a great ambassador of the city and local businesses. The rooms are basic but lovely and clean. Junny was also really conscious to ask if I was warm enough with the changing seasons. I find it hard to sleep in a room that isn't dark, but that's a personal thing. The railway station is a long way out of town and you will need to take a taxi or find out the local bus number.

Excellent location within easy walking distance to the historical sites, local restaurants and a 7/11. The bus stop for the big temple and the museum is close by. My room was furnished very simply with two single beds and a stool and with power points near the beds. The beds are Korean style in that they are quite firm and don't come with sheets. However, they are still comfortable. The bathroom is small in typical Korean guesthouse style. Toiletries are provided. Breakfast is bread, cheese slices and eggs. There is orange juice and you can make coffee. Junny is very kind and caring and explains everything while providing a map and all the information that you need. No issues with the WiFi.

Perfect hotel in Gyeongju : - location could not be better. Easy to reach with bus, and then you can do everything by walking. - staff is 100% friendly. They will give you all the advices and tips you need to know to enjoy your trip. - rooms are very very clean and confortable, and the common area is great. If you're looking for a hotel in Gyeongju, don't miss this one, you can't find better.

Junny was an amazing host who was very knowledgeable about Gyeongju and was able to plan an itinerary of must-dos in Gyeongju for me based on the number of days I was staying. I particularly loved the personalised plan and treatment I received from Junny, and it definitely made my Gyeongju experience even better! The room and bathroom were clean, and the bathroom had required amenities such as toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, etc.
