Not a negative for us, but you can see from reviews and photos that there are futons. Don’t be surprised by them when you arrive.

Perfect experience of a Hanok in South Korea for us. The host was welcoming, the room was comfortable and spacious, while the garden was very peaceful for breakfast. We also got a great recommend for a Korean BBQ close by! The futons were very comfortable too!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hanok, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The traditional architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and attention to detail made my stay incredibly special. However, what impressed me even more than the charm of the place was the kindness of the host. I accidentally left my AirPods behind in the room, and to my surprise, the host not only found them but also sent them to my next hotel in Seoul — completely free of charge. This thoughtful gesture really touched me and showed how much the host cares about their guests. I wholeheartedly recommend staying at this wonderful hanok. It's not just a beautiful place to experience traditional Korean culture, but also a place where you'll be warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for.

It's a little hard to find as set back from the road behind a car park I would not advise this room if you are not physically equipped for being on the floor.

We stayed here 3 nights to explore Gyeongju and did not regret it. very quiet for a good night's sleep. It's a traditional Korean setting that's been modified with up to date bathroom. It's a beautiful and clean accommodation with futon beds that are much more comfortable than they look. Shoes are left up on decking outside and a sliding door bathroom with shower and modern toilet serves well. A small fridge is provided. Walls are thin so noise should be kept low. There is breakfast provided by the kind staff every morning with fruit, cake, coffee and boiled eggs (with soy sauce marinade) available. Plenty of shops, amenities and things to visit are all within walking distance. No furniture is in the standard rooms beside a very small vanity table and mirror.

Only small issues like the shower water in the common toilet goes from cold to hot & it is hard to keep it at a stable temp to shower. The room with 2 floor mattresses, the flooring near the entrance & exit of the room seems stained other wise it’s perfect.

It is a re-built Hanok so it can offer great new facilities in it so everything is of top quality. The toiletries are premium and the Hanok is so cosy. Terry the owner of the Hanok is always so helpful and available to make sure our stay is well taken care of and he also helped us to plan our stay with recommended places to eat as well as visiting sites. Really loved Gyeongju, looking forward to return for another visit if opportunity arises.

Our stay was so perfect that our only regret was not staying longer. Harry was the most welcoming host and the accommodation is extremely beautiful. The Hanock’s display beautiful craftsmanship (historical and recent interior renovations). Everything is top quality! It has been the highlight of our trip around South Korea.

Had a lovely time at SiEunJea. The traditional house is absolutely beautiful, designed by the owner himself. It was very nice and relaxing sitting in the garden or at our balcony after a day of sightseeing. Also enjoyed the breakfast. Recommended.
