Prepare for: - so much kindness - delicious food, cooked by the owners mom herself - a lot of nature - insects & peacocks & a waran - a unique stay - a lot of great tips - a under 10 minute walk to the beach & the nearest supermarket - cute balcony If you can live with all of that, you're completely right here! One must know there are some insects or gecko and so on in the house because it’s surrounded by nature. Not a big problem but good to know before! When it’s raining a lot it can also get in the house a bit but the hosts helped a lot with finding solutions and helped in general.

The hosts are really lovely. They can arrange day trips for you and have also good options for breakfast/dinner for low costs. The room is clean. 100% recommend

This was my favourite stay in Sri Lanka, Ishran and his family were lovely and so helpful with anything I could have wanted! The breakfast I had there was delicious! This stay was a lovely comfort whilst also still having great access to everything in Mirissa! The room was comfortable and it was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the monkeys! Ishran was also so helpful in providing guidance and recommendations in making the most of my time in Mirissa. I can't wait to stay here again in the future!

We had a great two night's stay at the Bird House.... Basic as it is, we thought it was worth every penny! Not just for the accommodation but for the location and also the owners who welcomed you like family. We had breakfast whilst we stayed along with one evening meal which was absolutely delicious and plentiful! Traditional Sri Lanka food cooked by mum ☺️ The location is a hop, skip and a jump to the beach and the town was no more than 10 minutes walk away. If you like going back to nature and a rustic quirky place then I'd highly recommend you stay here....

The mosquitos‘ net was broken on some parts and was not enjoyable at all during the night, honestly it could be replaced since is important in such a room. Sink water is almost not existant but shower works.

The cottage is very nice, was the first time for us in such a place, it has what you need in a small room. Loved also the small balcony. You are in the middle of nature, with lovely animal sounds around and some of them you can expect to enter the room, which is pretty normal. You have to know that. We had breakfast and dinner cooked from the host‘s mom and was very good. No hot water but you also don‘t need it because of high temperature. Good Wi–Fi.

Maybe it's a bit noisy when you have to rest, but if you wear earplugs you will be fine. There are many insects, you need to get used to them. The water pressure of the sink could be improved

Ishan is extremely attentive and communicative, very helpful and friendly. As well as his lovely mother that cooks delicious food 😋 I really enjoyed staying at Bird House experiencing a lovely stay with local people. Good location, very close to the beach. I totally reccomend

We had a lovely stay at the birdhouse! Great location and a beautiful little treehouse. The optional meals were amazing, Ishan and his mum went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy, ishan gave us so many great recommendations that made our stay even better. He also helped organise a scooter and a taxi to the airport for us, highly recommend staying here if in Mirissa. :)

Our stay was absolutely perfect! A huge thank you to our host and his mother for their warm welcome and kindness. We decided to have dinner and breakfast on-site, and it was truly delicious, all homemade. They also helped us book our activities and were always attentive to our needs. We keep wonderful memories of our stay and highly recommend this place!

Tasty food at affordable price avoid so we avoid the hassle of looking for a restaurant. Plus the fish curry can't be more fresh because owner is the fisherman!!! few minutes to beach

Perfect! If you're looking for a quiet nest in the local area, that’s the treasure! It felt like living on the tree thanks to its beautiful, simple wooden interior and the height. From the balcony you can spot peacocks, geckos and other birds and feel like one. You can get very tasty, authentic Sri Lankan food, cooked by the mum of Ishan. He is such kind and warm-hearted person, answering questions and giving very good recommendations. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay there longer because the house was booked. If we will ever come back to Sri Lanka we will come to that nest for sure.

One of the best stays I had in Sri Lanka. Loved the sound of the birds in the morning and being away from the busyness. Ishan was always there if I needed anything and provided me with information about the area. Not to mention his Mom's homecooking. Very nice and comforting food. I had lunch on my arrival and dinner that same evening. Also I had breakfast the day I checked out. Very happy. Thanks for a great stay

This place is really homely and makes you feel instantly relaxed! The type of accomodation that you’re happy to stay and have relaxing mornings, and happy to come back to after exploring! Ishaan gave us lots of helpful tips about the area and his mum makes delicious breakfast and dinner! We ate there every day and definitely recommend it! The natural environment surrounding and the vibe that Ishaan has created is truly lovely - a million times better than bright white walls! The place is very clean and practical, with a private bathroom and lovely little deck outside.

Nothing really major. But the place don't come with hot water heater if it's anyone's concern. However the weather is warm so I don't think it's a necessity for water heater. They also accept payment in cash, just heads up - but the ATMs are also walking distance or a short tuktuk ride away, so it's not a problem.

The place was really wonderful. It was walking distance to all the beaches in Mirissa including the main Mirissa Beach, Secret Beach, Turtle Beach, and Coconut Tree Hill. The host, Ishan and his family were wonderful. You could also order breakfast and lunch from them if you'd like authentic Sri Lankan food. Ishan was super helpful in giving suggestions and was very genuine too. The place is clean and neat.
