Ella town was a little busy for me - I liked staying on the porch swing outside my bedroom.

This is a homestay. It's basic but I thought it was perfect. My host Iresha was extremely gracious and lovely. The room overlooked a fabulous vista - down the mountain. You have to have a good appetite to finish the breakfast. Frankly I couldn't rate this place more. Go on a tea tour - I did the Halpe Plantation tour - I am no tea picker - no surprise there! The hike to Little Adams Peak is worth the trek - it's not little though!

One thing to improve: there’s no air conditioning, which might be a consideration in warmer months

Middle Scenary Home Stay is an absolute gem! The host was incredibly lovely and helpful, making our stay comfortable and memorable. The view from the balcony is breathtaking—you can see both Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock, which made every morning truly special. Staying here feels like being in a cozy treehouse, surrounded by nature and serenity. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and peaceful getaway!

Perfect location with the most beautiful view of Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak. At breakfast time I watched the monkeys playing in the jackfruit tree only a few metres from the balcony. Quiet, away from the noise of central Ella and the busy road. But only 15 mins walk away. At night time, the narrow road is very dark in places but I saw fireflies when walking back in the evening. Very generous breakfast and kind, helpful host.

Not an issue for us but was a steep but short set of stairs to go down.

Really lovely spot. Waking up to the call of birds. Big yummy breakfast on the balcony looking out across the valley and seeing chipmunks in the trees. Cozy tree house vibes. Hot water shower. Friendly host. There wasn't a kettle but she bought us hot water when we asked. Good location, easy walk to food but nice and quiet. Would stay again.

While we were there in monsoon season, there were thunderstorms every evening which meant there were intermittent power cuts (this is common all across Ella, in restaurants and everything, but you should be aware). It flicked on and off a lot, but it was never off too long - it didn’t really bother us. The wifi, as in a lot of places in Sri Lanka, was not great, but it was good enough if you’re not working. These things are common accross all cheaper accommodation in Ella, and we thought for the price it was worth the minor inconvenience

Amazing view, with complete privacy as you are the only room in the homestay, completely separated from the main house. Surrounded by nature and it was really beautiful in the rain and in the sun. The breakfast was huge, fresh, and delicious and you could request it at whatever time served right in front of the room. The property is a bit tricky to find down a long driveway - if you’re being driven you can tell them the Arana Eco Lodge which is right next door and all the drivers know it. It was a 15min walk into town up a slight hill but that was super easy, otherwise there are always tuk tuk drivers on the driveway or where it connects to the main road, where you can get to the main town from 500LKR or less. You get an amazing view of the waterfall as you walk up to the accommodation but unfortunately you can’t quite see it from the room, but you can see a valley with lots of birds and other wildlife.

We stayed here two nights - fantastic view (when it wasn’t cloudy 😋), and the host was super friendly! The breakfast was delicious with all you can ask for, and later on she came with jackfruit. She also made sure we had umbrellas during the rains, well needed and welcomed! It took 10 min to go into town, perfect. During one evening there were a lot of monkeys invaded the neighbors house - lot of fun for us!

One of the cheapest and best accommodation I have ever been to. It really is as the pictures show if not better. Breakfast, beds, view, bathroom amazing. Location is good and they provide Tuktuk drivers that are available all the time within 5minutes. FYI monkeys like to steal the biscuits.

This is honestly the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka!! Very clean and tidy, amazing view from your privat cozy balcony, suuper comfy bed with the coziest blankets! Also super friendly and helpful hosts who organized us a scooter/tuktuk & made a great breakfast. Highly recommend this to everyone!
