The host is super kind and helpful, which makes the stay a real big delight. Also nice terrace with a view, although it was raining in Kandy almost the entire time we were here. The breakfast was very big. Both some Sri Lankan and some bread. Everything is very clean, and the entire family is so friendly. The host also speaks perfect English, which was a relief after many misunderstandings in our past two homestays where they only communicated via Google Translate 😄 So overall, Sun Dove was such a good stay as they are all very kind and we could communicate perfectly well. Would definitely book here again if in Kandy 🤗

A nice and clean city hotel near the hilltop. The staff are very friendly. We had a welcome ginger drink which was delicious and two bottles of water. The night was quiet.

I want to sincerely thank the host for an amazing stay and experience. It’s truly clear that this accommodation is run with care — the rooms are spotless, thoughtfully arranged, and equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. The host is very polite and helpful, always available when needed, yet never intrusive. All recommendations provided (sightseeing spots, tour planning, massages) were extremely useful and of high quality — most importantly, offered without pressure or personal gain, which is rare in Sri Lanka. The breakfasts are abundant, fresh, and delicious, prepared especially for you at the agreed time. The terrace offers breathtaking views, open to all guests. I highly recommend this accommodation if you want your stay to be truly pleasant and effortless!

My stay at this property in Kandy was pleasant. The room was clean and spacious, with a nice view of the city. The man at the reception was very kind and helpful, which I really appreciated. However, the location is not ideal, as you need to rely on tuk-tuks to get around. Breakfast was also a bit disappointing and could be improved.

Incredible views of Kandy Lake from our balcony! The most comfortable huge bed, and the room was so spacious! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! Breakfast each morning was not only super fresh but delicious! One of our best stays in Sri Lanka!

Nothing - be aware that it is a very hilly area, definitely get a taxi or tuktuk from the train station etc.

Probably the nicest place we’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka at a great price. Perfectly clean and tidy, modern interior and no hiccups at all. The owner was incredibly helpful and kind throughout. Brilliant breakfast spread of high quality which filled us up until dinner time. We wish we had stayed another night to experience more of Kandy.

Nothing really bothered me. Maybe one point as a feedback to the owner that would be nice if there is more ventilation in the corridors to remove the cooking smell.

The terrace balcony was the highlight of this place, offering a beautiful spot to relax. The stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The property manager was one of the best I have come across. I would also recommend trying Kandy Muslim Hotel during your stay—it has some of the best food, hands down. The washroom was clean, the water pressure great, and the bath very soothing. The property also offers a nice view and is conveniently close to restaurants if you would prefer not to head toward Kandy Lake.

Perfect location just outside the busy city center (near the viewpoint) but within walking distance (15 minutes downhill; uphill is walkable, but a tuk-tuk is also an option :-) Very clean and tidy rooms, large and comfortable bed, new quiet air conditioning, and a good shower. A very friendly owner. We thought we'd had the best breakfast before, but this one surpassed the previous one :-)

Exceptional stay. A perfect room with a balcony and terrace attached. Extremely comfortable. Absolute highlight is the breakfast, probably the best we had during our travels in Sri Lanka.
