How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Dear sir. i would like to clarify a few important points regarding this reservation. the booking made through the platform was for two guests only, yet upon arrival there were three guests ( Mr.abdlmalek,his wife,and their daughter ). despite this,they were kindly accepted without any modification to the booking on the platform. concerning the daily city tax,this is clearly stated in the platform 's conditions and is always payable upon arrival. it is not something we can waive or change. with regard to breakfast, the guests departed at 6:00 AM,before breakfast time. nevertheless, as a personal courtesy,I provided them with some items (cheese, eggs, brioche, bread...) to take with them. what is surprising is that I never met you personally, as you were not a guest at my property. yet, you posted a review under someone else' s name.with all due respect, how can one issue a judgment on services they never personally experienced? I kindly ask you to reconsider your comment, as it does not reflect the reality of the stay nor the efforts made to accommodate the guests under their particular circumstances. Verified reviewIt's a really nice place if you are about spending all your time outside. The location is great, with a supermarket nearby and an easy bus connection with the city centre. The host was very nice, speaking limited English (fluent in French and Arabic), but enough to get you what you need. The owner is happy to help you with anything you might need. They even did a laundry for us. You can rent a double room with access to a private bathroom. The WiFi was very good, and the bed was amazing (hard and very comfortable)!
The problem is access to facilities. You have to ask the host every time you need something from the kitchen. There is a room that was supposed to be the kitchen for guests, but there is nothing in there (no fridge, no hob, no kettle, no dishes...nothing), well there is a washing machine but it's broke. Every time we wanted a bowl, knife, spoon, or cup, we needed to go to the host and ask for it. It's doable but not the most pleasant experience, especially since the host works and is not always there. There is a shared bathroom between 3 rooms and the host, so you might need to wait your turn

We had booked an early tour so we asked if it will be possible to get some hot water so we could have our morning coffee before tour guide will pick us up, so the man from Villa arranged a full kettle of boiling water for us very early in the morning. If you will come from the Medina, you will definitely enjoy the calm and quiet area of this Villa. Excellent accommodation for the price.

Verified reviewThe owner was very friendly and we really appreciate that! He waited for us to arrive. We had free parking outside the guesthouse. The breakfast was very nice. We stayed only one night and we rented a car so the location was perfect for us. Overall, it was enough for a 1 night quick stop.
The room and the bathroom can be improved.
