All in all it's a lovely place although showing signs of wear and tear. The location is wonderfully peaceful but is still exposed to the Essaouira winds.

Our fault for not having done our research but our visit coincided with the major religious festival in Morocco. A couple of weeks before going to Morocco, I had previously asked if we could decide to hire a car once we arrived and was told there would be absolutely no problem - no mention. If this major long holiday weekend!. However, on arrival we were told that it would be impossible to get a car for love nor money because of the holiday! This holiday w/end also meant that most of the hotel staff were off including no cook for two nights. Youssef and Ali did their best to help all they could - Youssef took us to a restaurant nearby on the first night and came to pick us up again - but there was no housekeeping for our 5 day stay and they ran out of mint tea! Breakfast was OK but could benefit from some fruit juice/fresh fruit. As I said, the timing was unfortunate and Youssef and Ali did their very best - I am sure that when it is running on full steam, it would be great.

    Property response:

Dear Sally, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate it. First, we're glad to hear you enjoyed the peaceful location and that our team, especially Youssef and Ali, did their best to support you during your stay. Regarding the car rental, we did ask if you needed help organizing a vehicle beforehand, and we confirmed it could be arranged. However, like you mentioned, your visit coincided with one of the biggest national holidays in Morocco. Unfortunately, due to the high demand during Eid, all cars in Essaouira were fully booked. This is something we couldn’t predict or control, as nearly everything shuts down during that time, including suppliers and services. We had staff present during the holiday to ensure guests were supported, but some services were limited due to the occasion. Housekeeping was available from the second day, and we would’ve been happy to clean your room had you let us know. As indicated on our platform, daily housekeeping is available on request and may carry a small fee, especially outside of standard hours due to the rural location and logistics involved. As for breakfast, we serve a traditional Moroccan menu using fresh ingredients. Mint tea, for example, is only served fresh and not from stored leaves. During the holiday, our usual organic supplier was unavailable. We understand your preference for juice or fruit, and we’ll take that into account for future improvements. We genuinely did our best to offer personalized assistance, including complimentary transportation to and from a restaurant on your first night, despite the national holiday challenges. We hope this effort was felt during your stay, and we’re a bit surprised by the rating considering the circumstances and support provided. We’d be happy to welcome you again during a calmer period to show you the full experience we always strive to offer. Warm regards, The Dar OMNIA Team

Incredible rural location and architecture. Unique stay here by a short journey from Essaouira by car. Room and bathroom was very clean, well designed and functional. The whole interior design is well presented, felt homely traditional in detail with beautiful communal spaces which have a relaxed and quiet vibe. The outdoor pool looked amazing and next time I visit will be enjoyed! Stunning surroundings. The breakfast made in their own kitchen is vegan and was truly delicious. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the place really is a vibe and you can see the guys are dedicated and thoughtful about their work here.

Nothing to add here, it was perfect. Note there’s a steady pace about the place so don’t expect anything to be done in a rush.

Breakfast was a highlight under the vines patio by the pool. Honestly, after a couple days we felt at home with our hosts. Dar Omnia feels like a true labor of love and passion and it offers a glimpse of a simple and beautiful life.

    Nothing.

One of the most beautiful exceptional stays of my life. I really don't want to give a review as this place has to stay a secret but also wish it success! Everything has been created with high end artistic talent, fit for a 5 star hotel, every single detail. Art, furnishings, architecture, ambience, lighting, comfort, desks to work on, places to find peace. The staff are very relaxed, professional and kind.

Imposing property. Beautiful in a great location: outside of town but only a 15 - 20 minute drive away. 10 minutes from the Essaouira Fromagerie, which is definitely worth a visit. There is also vineyard you can visit but this was closed for lack of customers during our stay. Dar Omnia is run by a group of very friendly young people who are happy to chat to guests, are helpful with suggestions for activities locally and all seem able to cook! The food available was always delicious and prepared with care and attention to detail. There is a fireplace in the big lounge area and a fire was lit on our first night there which is always welcome. There is a lovely pool behind the property if you can brave the cool water (I did) and plenty of quiet areas. Beds very comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms spacious. We had a dressing too. We had a lovely peaceful stay. The place was not too busy and that was what I was looking for. Thank you all. The group could find themselves very busy in the near future with the production of another 'Troy' film starting just down the road on the beach about an hours hike away. The hotel would also be great for yoga retreats or Company events although there are not many bedrooms available.

The owners say that the property is not finished but what house is ever finished?! There are small things that could be done though, like lightbulbs replaced on the stairs up to the roof terrace and apparent wiring and bits of metal there to be fixed to have access to another lovely area! The pool was a bit sandy/dusty so could have done with a bit of a clean, though Essaouira is a windy, Sandy place - meaning cleaning is definitely needed a bit more often. There was a team of cleaners for the rooms etc though so no problem there. I'd say the group, who are obviously living very happily in their home, could be a bit more commercial to have greater financial success if they were interested in that. Our first evening I couldn't find anyone downstairs to order food or drinks from or to talk to! It didn't really matter but was surprising and a little disappointing. On the 2nd evening there were more people around so that was good. I guess it's a different culture and way of life though. Still someone on reception duty is often useful! I made sure to ask who would be around day 2 and we had a lovely late dinner and then someone was up at 6am to make sure our taxi arrived and we got off safely the next morning so that was lovely! It's definitely a different pace of life which is good after the busy town and Media. Slow-cooking is promoted for example. I asked about shampoo and shower-gel the first day but to no avail. There was plenty of soap in the bathrooms but the site shouldn't state 'free toiletries' if that's not the case. Take your own shampoo or let your hair recover for a few days (as I did!). We had a great experience in an amazing Country with a different culture but parts very similar to our own. Thankyou again.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere. Nice and helpful stuff.

hotel seems a little bit neglected (some holes in the walls, rusty shower, mattress in the middle of the stairs), but I would still recommend it.

The whole experience was exceptional. Honestly this is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in. It was incredible. The staff were fantastic. Our room was amazing. The food was out of this world. The whole place is relaxed. The pool was unbelievable. The whole vibe is relaxation. Anwar and Charif were so accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the best stay ever. This is truly the “The House of Wishes” and we wish you all the very best with your enterprise.

    Nothing. It was incredible.
