How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA calm boutique hotel with a limited amount of rooms. The staff is available and nice. Chilling during the day at the pool is very nice with the beds.
Transport to and from Marrakech with taxi quickly becomes expensive. A shuttle service with some fixed hours would be a big plus to this hotel.

Verified reviewThe hotel was very nice, huge apartment (bigger than expected), really nice pool area, gym, and big grounds with really nice grass area and tree/plants. Staff were brilliant too.
Not really a criticism as we purposely booked outside of central Marrakesh, but was a €25 taxi from medina

Verified reviewI really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, even though their English was limited – they always tried their best to help. The location was great: close enough to the medina to explore easily, but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. The room was beautiful, as was the bathroom, and the food was absolutely amazing.
There are a few areas that could be improved. Housekeeping wasn’t always consistent, and the toilet setup felt unusual – it was separate from the bathroom but without a bidet, sink, or any way to clean yourself, which is surprising in a Muslim country. The water pressure was also very weak, so showering wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been.

Verified reviewSuperb hotel, superb location, a little island of paradise. Amazing staff! A beautiful and peaceful retreat. Ideal for longer stay. Everything is impeccably clean. Room is spacious and tastefully decorated. Comfy bed. Fireplace. Easy to use and silent AC. Rooms are sort of sound-proof but you can sometimes hear your immediate neighbours. The hotel kindly requests guests to be silent after 22.00. You can listen to the birds and animals. Baffling panorama to the Atlas from the beautiful garden. Nice pool (unheated). Beautiful pool area. Wonderful sunbeds, enough for everyone. Luxury touch. Beautiful orange trees. Lot of place to read, relax, sleep. Private and secluded areas in the garden. Excellent breakfast. You can have your freshly made breakfast wherever you want - in the garden, in front of your room etc. Wonderful service, tasty msemmen. Fresh orange juice. Good kitchen, nice food in the restaurant. Good location: you need a car (but there is transfer service if you need). You can easily access the city to visit or have a meal and go for shopping - then you can go back to the quiet resort if tired of the bustle. The staff cannot be praised enough. They are very nice, helpful, talkative. But they leave you alone if you want to enjoy the silence. They do everything they can to make sure guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. The whole staff is wonderful but I especially want to mention Abdul! He is amazing. He goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome. You can park your car inside the facility for free. There is a transfer service if you need. Very correct hotel. No tricks. You pay everything as agreed. I wish I could return several times!

The staff were amazing and could not do enough for you. especially Mr Shakur and Yusef the ultimate bar staff and all round breakfast and dinner hosts . The receptionists. lovely ladies. The chefs. Mouth watering food. The spa and masseuse, amazing. I am a Sport therapist myself and have to say, she was good!. The manager Salima, always had time for you and very approachable and attentive to guests needs.
Check in, we had a bit of a wait as the rooms were not ready but we did arrive early and the hotel were informed of this.

Verified reviewA truly stunning small boutique hotel. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and really looked after us. A special mention to Salah who was incredibly helpful, kind & always greeted you with a smile. The decor with amazing with the most stunning paintings. Outstanding breakfast and delicious dinners too. Garden & pool were beautiful. We played golf at The Royal Marrakech Golf Club which was excellent and the highlight of the trip was going on a hot air balloon with Marrakech Dream Balloons. It was incredible and not at all scary!
The pool could have been heated, appreciate there were only a few guests and we were out quite a lot of the time. I wouldn't not book again though for this reason. It was lovely to lay on the sunbeds around the lovely pool.

Verified reviewOk, so where to start? This is my second time at the Palais Anthea and will not be my last! The Oasis of Marrakech. From the booking to the welcome, my expectations as a seasoned traveler were met and went well beyond. The Environment was idyllic, peaceful and calming from the moment I arrived. The staff were the star of the show, not a single "ask" was too much trouble but also not overbearing either. The rooms, again spotless and comfortable, with fresh mineral water(as much as is needed) provided everyday to the room. Cleaning was done at my leisure and even on the days that I ate breakfast late, the rooms were cleaned the moment I was relaxing by the pool so as not to disrupt my day in any way, they would as if it was ok to clean my room! Food! Food! Food! From breakfast to snacks to proper meals, everything fresh cooked to order and never waited more than 10 minutes for food to arrive. If your luck to stay then try Chefs Lemon Tart! Simple but the best I have ever eaten! My last words on the Palais Anthea...JUST GO!
The fact that I had to leave!

Verified reviewAbsolutely beautiful place to stay, staff are wonderful, Salah on the front desk can arrange and sort out everything you need, you just have to ask. Don’t panic on the drive there it is a little way out of the town but once you get behind the gates it’s absolutely magical. The place is a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the medina areas of the town. The rooms are a great size, plenty of space and very comfortable. They have front and back patio areas for relaxing in. Most of the time it felt like we had the place to ourselves there is so much outdoor space.
Very difficult to find much not to like. Maybe the towels could have been a little fluffier and there were a few things like the grouting in the shower/ bath that needed repointing, but who cares about that !

Verified reviewThe German owner wanted to make the place nice and I only booked it based on this fact as I was living many years in Germany.
Terrible Experience – Ruined My Vacation I had an awful stay at this hotel, and I strongly advise against booking it. Communication was terrible—I waited over 24 hours for a response before arrival, and once I landed in Marrakesh, they informed me via WhatsApp that there was no baby cot, despite it being listed in the description. I had to spend hours searching for one myself. As well I had to order another taxi driver more expensive as they didn’t answer me about an airport shuttle service. The first night was a disaster—the TV turned on by itself at midnight, waking me and my baby, and the heating wasn’t explained, leaving us freezing in the +6°C cold. Essential amenities like the kettle, fridge, and night lamp didn’t work, and it took them two days to fix the kettle, making it impossible to prepare milk for my child. The bathroom was full of ants, and the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. To make matters worse, I unknowingly consumed alcohol in their restaurant due to staff negligence, which caused serious distress due to my medical condition. Instead of handling the issue professionally, chaos ensued, and my entire afternoon was ruined by staff loudly arguing with another guest next door. The hotel also failed to honor its promises. Salah had agreed to cover my airport transfer as compensation for their poor service, yet they never paid for it. On checkout day, the manager, Salima, failed to show up as promised. The taxi they ordered dropped me and my 1-year-old at the wrong location in the middle of the street, where I felt unsafe. Later, I found out they hadn’t even paid for that taxi either, leaving me to pay double. When I messaged the manager about the situation, she responded days later with insults and lies. This hotel falsely advertises babysitting services, which don’t exist. Their unprofessionalism, lack of basic hospitality, and outright dishonesty made my trip stressful and unpleasant. I deeply regret booking this place.
