How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was very clean and tidy. The host was super friendly.
Was a little hard to find but we received a video in advance. The room was fairly small but we only stayed one night so that wasn’t a problem.

Verified reviewI would like to shout from the stunning Moroccan rooftops about Khalid, our lovely host at Riad Akkioui. Khalid was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. We spent a fair amount of time asking him about his country, home town, food, and customs, and he was a lovely company that shared beautiful stories. He always served breakfast with incredible attention, offering more and more choices, even attending to the needs of our little child, which was just incredibly sweet. One evening I sat on the terrace to enjoy the sunset and Khalid and his lovely colleague just shared their dinner (incredible stuffed pitas!) with me and my family. Just chatting to them while eating homemade food they so kindly shared made this trip very special for me. Thank you, Khalid, for all your time and kindness.

Verified review- Near to old city attractions - WiFi connectivity was good - AC works well. - The owner was helpful and also washed few clothes without service charge.
- The property is located in narrow alleys and you can’t find it easily. We always found strange people sitting near the entrance of poorly lit alley and it felt unsafe. - No windows in the room, poor ventilation and no cupboards to keep the clothes. Not ideal if you are staying for more than 1 night. - The shower was not functioning for first 2 days due to clogging but it was fixed promptly after informing. - Noise of people talking from outside/ other rooms were clearly heard and was making it difficult to sleep . - It’s on 2nd floor and no lift. - No soap / shampoo in bathroom ( This is true for most Riads in Marrakesh). Handwashing soap was given after request. - They don’t have iron in the hotel and if you want to press 1-2 clothes, you need to buy service. This property was given 3 stars by Booking.com & hence we booked it. I am truly disappointed. Looks like the quality award is completely manipulated.

Verified review• The host was truly exceptional. His warmth, friendliness, and genuine effort to make us feel comfortable were the only reason we did not leave immediately. His hospitality is beyond words, and he is the one redeeming quality of this property. • The terrace offered a pleasant spot for breakfast or relaxation, with a nice view in the morning. • Breakfast was fresh and well-prepared daily by the host.
• The room (Room 1) was extremely cramped, to the point of being impractical. At 180 cm and 75 kg(pretty slim build), I struggled to fit through the doors, particularly when accessing the bathroom. This often required moving our shoes/bags out of the way, ducking, and maneuvering just to get through. • There is no storage space whatsoever, no drawers, shelves, or closets. This forces guests to keep luggage on the floor and constantly pack/unpack just to access their belongings. • The sink is essentially unusable: it is too small to wash properly, fills instantly, and the water flow cannot be adjusted it’s either on full or off. • The shower suffers from the opposite issue: water pressure is so weak that rinsing is a challenge. • Cleanliness left quite a bit to be desired. While the sheets were acceptable, the rest of the room and facilities looked neglected and hastily maintained. • The door only locks with a simple latch rather than a proper handle, and there is no key for the property. Guests must rely on the host being present to let them in, which is inconvenient and potentially unsafe, especially given the poorly lit dead-end street. • Noise isolation is virtually nonexistent. Conversations from other guests in the hall or common areas, or even their room sound as if they are happening inside the room.

A bit hard to find and on the outskirts of the medina. The rooms are also a tight squeeze.

Verified reviewThe hospitality was unmatched! The full spread of continental breakfast awaited every morning. The omlet with Cumin was delicious. Our host (Hamed sp?) was wonderful as well as his assistant. For the price it was comfortable and clean. The print shop guy for our boarding passes was super helpful when he saw I was in a bit of distress.
Not the riad it was what I expected. The handlers that appeared to be friendly and guided you to the most expensive places in the market - beware.

Verified reviewAbdel was absolutely fantastic, so so helpful and kind. I loved that the riad was run by Moroccan people- it felt far more authentic. Every day they made a delicious breakfast for whatever time we wanted- amazing customer service. The room was basic but it met all of our needs and was incredible value for money. Would 100% recommend. Thank you Abdel and his friends.

Close to the centre and only a short walk in, but the Tinsmiths Square is close and great to get something to eat.

Verified reviewWe loved this riad! Thank you so much, Riad Akkioui. Riad Akkioui is fantastic. It's new, very clean, with all the furnishings and everything perfect. It is in the medina and very close to everything and easy to find. It's in a quiet area. We found peace there. The room had bathroom, and everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. We were there in April, when it was still cold at night, and we enjoyed the duvet cover. There's also air conditioning and heating, although we didn't use it. The Wi-Fi works great and fast. They also offer a very complete and delicious breakfast. The riad also has a very nice rooftop terrace, where you can relax after a busy day. The staff are very friendly and helped us with everything. Thank you so much Khalid, Abdelghan and Salah. We recommend this riad 100%. See you soon, Riad Akkioui!
