We spent one night at this riad and enjoyed everything about it. The riad is beautifully decorated and located in the center of the Medina. The owner was one of our greatest encounter in Morroco, being extremely kind and accomodating. Last but not least, the breakfast was really good. I highly recommend this place for a stay at Essaouira.

It was the best place we stayed in Morrocco! The place was well situated in the Medina but at the same time it was quiet which is good, it was comfortable and decorated with taste with typical Morrocan objects as well as artistic pieces that really give a soul and a cool vide to the place! But the best thing was the hospitality of Mohamed that welcomed us, he was very kind and helpful! On our last day I got very sick and he was so caring towards us, he even cooked us rice to help me recover, we are very grateful that our path crossed with him🙏🏼

    Nothing, waste of money.

Our stay at Riad Dar Latifa was very disappointing. The host, Fatema, was extremely uncooperative and unhelpful throughout. Instead of assisting us, she seemed to make fun of us, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. The facilities were poorly arranged — the bathroom was on the ground floor while our room was on the second floor, which was very inconvenient. The stairs were extremely steep and unsafe, especially for anyone carrying luggage or mobility concerns. There are a lot of mosquitos and no provision for a mosquito repellent in the room. On top of that, the riad’s location was very difficult to find, which made arriving and moving around frustrating. Overall, we had a very uncomfortable experience and would not recommend this riad to others.

    Property response:

Dear guest, Thank you for your message and next time please take enough time to read the discription of what you book in order not to be surprised when you arrive to your accomodation. This will surely avoid this kind of comments that you gave us which is far of our service quality. If you take a look in all ancien comments they will surely judge our professionalism and good quality of service. Have a nice journey Riad Dar Latifa

Great location. We were greeted by our host Mohamad who was one of most helpful and kindest persons we came across. He offered us healthy coffee and buns which were yummy. He informed us about a lot of things and showed us where to go. Rooms were beautiful and clean. We loved staying there.

It's not negative but just to inform that cars could not go inside the old part where we stayed. But we got a porter with a trolley who carried our bag to the Riad.

Good location, comfy and clean rooms, the communal bathroom seemed to be cleaned frequently, free breakfast.

The host was very friendly - in my experience, too friendly. I think the property would benefit from having a chat with him about what types of questions are appropriate to ask solo female travelers. I think he means well and is just curious about people from other cultures, but it was uncomfortable for me to have the man I’m staying with ask me about my “intimate experience” and constantly comment on my body.

This riad is beautiful and cozy. The room I was in (double room) is comfortable and large, and Mohammed was really welcoming and kind. As answer to the review about low wifi, I wanted to say that the wifi was pretty strong for me and I could connect and surf the internet without issues.

Charming riad with limited rooms creating privacy. Nice patio to wash/dry clothes, enjoy the ocean breeze/sounds. Host was extremely gracious and accommodating making a nice breakfast to go before my early departure.

Minor but known aspect is the bathroom downstairs for select rooms, but aware of this in advance

Absolutely lovely an authentic. The Riad is gorgeous and very well manteined, they offer you a her bed coffee when you arrive and the man is adorable and extremely helpful. They have two beautiful terraces at the rooftop for customers use. The bed was very comfortable, the temperature of the room was perfect and at night is very quiet and cozy. Superb!

    Nothing! Everything was perfect!

Had to book this property at short notice due to major issue with my existing Riad in Essaouria. Riad Dar Latifa handled the booking efficiently and I was able stay in the foyer while Mohammed made up my room. Mohammed has a pivotal role in the success of this Riad. He is attentive, delightful with the amusing Google translation and makes a wonderful breakfast. Even told me the wind had got up and a jacket was needed outside in the evening. Riad has a rooftop which while not glamorous is a nice nook to escape to for some quiet time.

Toilet situation for upstairs room should be more clear in booking.

The caretaker Mohamed was the sweetest he treated me like his own son and we prayed Jummah together. He is like the Moroccan Jackie chan (ask to see his photos when he was young) I felt at home. The building was beautiful and close to everything a maximum 5 min walk to good food spots.

The beds were a little stiff.
