How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFirst Abdou the owner was very welcoming & it was very easy to communicate with him before we got there. The location is very good, only a few min away from Place Jemaa El Fna yet very calm. The breakfast was delicious & the rooms very comfortable. We really felt at home.

Verified reviewThe host was very friendly and gave me a lot of helpful information. The terrace is very nice and the location is great to visit other attractions.
At the corner to arrive at the riad there were always drug dealers at evening/night, so I didn't feel very safe. The bathroom could be improved, since the towels were pretty worn and the shampoo container was empty. Breakfast was pretty bland.

Verified reviewThe location is very central and a short walk to the Souks and the central square. Our Riad owner was very helpful and showed us how to get to the main square as soon as we arrived. He was very helpful with everything and kept the room clean and stocked with clean towels and toilet rolls. We needed help to get in touch with our tour operator and he sorted everything out. nothing was a problem. The roof top was a lovely escape from the crowds on really hot days and the hamman and massage next door was a great start to the holiday.
We got lost on our first evening which was a bit daunting. Our phones maps took us in circles. You end up down alleyways that are quite run down ( due to 2023 earthquake) however no one bothers you and theres lots of tourists wandering around.

Verified reviewBeautiful riad, on a quiet street only a few steps away from the busy souk. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and the AC worked well. The curtains kept the room dark and we got some great nights of sleep. The bathroom was nicer than most places we had stayed in Morocco! A good potent hairdryer and clothes iron were welcome surprises. Breakfast was always fresh (although it did not say so on Booking, breakfast was included - something we confirmed directly with the accommodation while booking). Abdul was very attentive from the moment we arrived and made sure nothing was missing for our stay. On our last day, he made our lives easier by letting us keep our luggage in the Riad and letting us come and go as we pleased so we could enjoy the day until our flight at night. We would definitely stay here again!
Only a minor thing, but the breakfast could be a little more diverse and include some protein. After 10 days in Morocco we had had enough pancakes with honey and jam (as delicious as they might be). Abdou was a little persistent about us leaving a review - which we were always going to do, but not right the moment we get home after a long trip. Don’t worry, Abdou, the excellent service deserves a good review! :)

Verified reviewLovely host with a great location that gives easy access to tourist attractions and facilities such as the Madina gardens and shopping centers. Great rooms and friendly staff with all the facilities you could need such as an ensuite, good wifi, air conditioning and breakfast every morning, highly recommended.

Verified reviewHost is nice, and the tea was great. Property is in a great location in the market. Even if we were close to the market I couldn't hear any noise from there in my room.
This didn't bother me at all, but I'm posting this for someone who might have mobility issues. Be prepared for a short 5 minute walk with your luggage from the nearest vehicle drop off point since a lot of the market is walking/motorcycle only. But if you're going to stay in the market (which is a great location) this will affect any place there anyways so be ready for that.

Verified reviewThe owner was extremely nice and friendly! He helped us with everything, was always available and took great care of us! The location is also perfect, we were there just 2 women and we felt safe all the time.
The room could be a little more clean, one of our towels was dirty.

Verified reviewThe host was great. Very helpful in arranging a taxi from the front door. It was very central. Bedding clean & a hot shower.
The Riad was run down. The walls need a clean or paint. Dark, musty rooms. I just needed a room for the night but would not stay here again.

Verified reviewGreat location right in the middle of town, lovely old building and the bathroom was nice and big.
As soon as I made a booking I got 3 calls from the owner in quick succession which was annoying, and then again on the day of my arrival and again during my stay - I love good communication but this was to the level of spamming. And then on the first night the owner sat chatting in the common area on his phone until 9pm which you can hear extremely clearly due to the standard riad layout. Another time I overheard him telling some guests that they were the "good" type of guests, whatever that means (but it seems to imply there is a bad type, not really something that needs to be discussed in the common area where all guests can hear). Not to mention the banging on my door one evening (and repeated phone calls) which I won't even go into here. The breakfast was also pretty mediocre, only breads provided whereas every other place I stayed in Morocco at least included some hot food such as eggs. Finally on checkout I left my bag and upon returning had to bang on the door and wait 10 minutes for someone to come answer. In terms of the property itself - they have covered the opening in the roof with a canvas roof and play recorded bird noises which means no sun or air and once you notice the fake bird noises it will give you a headache. The rooms are quite stuffy without any airflow or air conditioning. The rooftop is not comfortable as shown in photos, all of this comfy seating has been replaced with very upright chairs and there is now very little shade. The only other place to sit is downstairs where the owner and maid are always sitting, most other riads have lovely cozy seating areas scattered around. I am usually pretty forgiving and happy with anywhere to rest my head but this place rubbed me the wrong way and I actually felt a sense of relief leaving. Would not recommend this place, especially given that it's one of the more expensive options.

Verified reviewThe host is super cooperative. When we mentioned that we would be leaving early for the desert tour, he prepared some coconut cake to take as parcel for us and also helped keep our luggage until we returned from the tour.
Might find it tricky to find in the old town small roads

Verified reviewThe location was everything! The riad was located right where the souk was, so the moment you walked out of the property there is a souk and a good hammam.

Verified reviewWe enjoyed our stay with my friend. The riad looks really nice from the inner garden. The rooftop has amazing views to the city and the Atlas. It is a quiet place but the location is top. Jamaa El Fna is 7 minutes of walking away. Our room was pretty small and not too equipped, but it was quite comfortable.
