Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhile booking it says “mini bar included” but we didn’t have any mini bar, not even drinking water, had to buy from near by shop. We also had to pay 100MDH as “tourist tax” which wasn’t mentioned while booking. Otherwise the stay was fine.
It’s a nice cozy space with a beautiful terrace, walking distance from some of the main attractions.

United KingdomAC in the room could have been a little better for the hotter nights. Bit tricky to find, make sure you call them when you’re nearby!
Riad Merstane was a truly beautiful stay. Something so noticeable was how quickly it felt like home. Rachid’s casual and caring attitude combined with a high standard of service made for such a warm experience. All of the staff were brilliant - with a special mention to Mohamed the night guardian, who made us feel so safe and welcome throughout our stay, as well as providing friendly chats. Rachid also gave us some great recommendations of things to do in town. The room was gorgeous, spacious yet cosy with a traditional feel, and clean. The riad itself is a stunning example, a true oasis in the chaos of the medina. I wish I could be having a delicious breakfast there every morning. The interiors have such a homely feel, after a while it’s like you’re staying in a distant family member’s place. Well located around a 20 minute walk through the souks to the main square. We loved staying here and you will too!

The staff were friendly, nice accomodation, very clean! Around 15-30 minutes from main places Breakfast was good too

CanadaThe location was a bit rough. To get to the souqs and shops we had to walk for about 10 minutes along some rougher looking streets with quite a bit of traffic. This made it a bit harrowing, getting to and from the riad when we would go out for the day. It was even worse in the evening when we'd go out for dinner and come back in the dark.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms were nice and quite spacious. The bathrooms were some of the nicest we've had since arriving in Morocco. The common area and terrace of the riad were lovely.

Riad Merstane was the perfect place to stay in Marrakech! Rachid was the perfect host, he couldn't do enough for us. We were collected from the airport, shown to the Riad, given a map and advice for local restaurants and sights. The Riad was beautiful with a great roof terrace and a lovely room- just a short walk into the centre of the old town. Breakfast was also fantastic. Cannot recommend Riad Merstane enough! If I visit Marrakech again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here :)

United KingdomLovely Riad with a very kind and friendly host. It’s right in the Medina so feels very authentic. Not easy to find so I’d recommend a shuttle or a taxi driver who knows where it is. Overall it’s a lovely place. My only comment which isn’t a criticism is that it’s in one of the quieter slightly less touristy areas of the Medina. But that also means you’ll get so see some very authentic areas and markets.

United KingdomAmazing host rachid and mouhammed were so helpful in guiding you around Marrakech. My fiance actually had an allergic reaction one night and mouhammed walked me the pharmacie to get her medication late at night as it’s easy to get lost in the medina. Inside hotel is also amazing with great rooftop would 100% recommend

The staff was very nice and welcoming, giving us tips on how to go around the city and what to visit. The room was beautiful and clean, we had clean towels and the bed sheets were clean as well. The breakfast- exceptional! Traditional, tasty and huge ☺️ I’d just recommend to bring some shower gel and earplugs because you can easily wake up at the morning prayer call, but that’s just how it is in Morocco ☺️ We’d definitely come back

United KingdomThe riad itself was actually quite far out from the centre, still very walk-able, but after a long day out, it did seem to take a while to walk back to the riad. The area itself was less touristy, and had quite a lot of narrow streets and tunnels to get back to our place, so it made us feel a little more uneasy, although we still felt safe and never encountered any problems at all. The riad was quite noisy, sound seemed to travel a lot.
The bedroom was very spacious, had an air-con unit, and plenty of plug sockets. We also had an on-suite bathroom which was great. The riad itself had a nice roof terrace, a lounge area with books and games, and a pretty central indoor/outdoor style courtyard where we ate breakfast each morning. The hotel manager, Rachid, was absolutely lovely and was also very attentive in ensuring we had everything we needed. He also Whatsapp messaged us prior to our stay to arrange an airport transfer for us.

FranceIt was difficult to connect to the hotel wifi as the walls of the hotel is bit thick. And the bathroom was a bit smelly.
We like almost everything of the hotel. The staffs are very helpful and great in service. We were lost in the city and we called the hotel, one of the staffs came to pick us. We also ordered dinner at the hotel, the taste of the food was the best we tried in morocco. That was our last day dinner and we regent not to ordered for every meal of us. They breakfast was also good. They freshly served it. There are nicely decorated rooftop and common seating areas also.

United KingdomMattress was very firm. Approx 20min walk to the main square in the medina (if you don’t get lost which would be an achievement in itself). The Riad is situated down poorly lit alleyways. Some buildings in close proximity to Riad are rubble now (might have been due to the recent large earthquake).
