How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewReally enjoyed our stay here. The hosts are so lovely and took care of us and all our needs. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh pancakes, bread, fruit, yoghurt, omelettes and delicious fresh juice and mint tea. They were happy to serve us breakfast early when we had excursions planned and were really helpful organising everything for us. The rooms are clean and comfy and its lovely to have the authentic morocco experience.
Nothing it was all excellent

Verified reviewUnfortunately we cannot rate Riad Zehar. When we arrived we were escorted, after much confusion, to Riad Rêves D'orient instead. We were told there was a problem with Riad Zehar which meant we couldn't stay there. I was disappointed but we were offered an upgrade and the room was lovely. The bed was the most luxurious we slept on during our time in Morocco - it was bliss! Breakfast on the terrace was lovely and all the staff were great. Location was also perfect.
There was no prior communication to warn us about the change of accommodation so arrival was quite stressful.

Verified reviewFrom the first moment to the last Abdo and his team Adnan and Ali just anticipated everything. Checking in felt like a meeting with my private banker, hot tea, debrief on the area, sites, restaurants, thorough but not intrusive, Abdo essentially gives a terrific sit rep for a new guest landing in Marrakech for the first time. But it just kept, the free tea anytime, working on the roof terrace in the breeze, cold AC in my room, a clean bright bathroom and clean sheets and towels. It was far more than I expected and it was perfect. It isn’t the Ritz it’s far better and authentic. I didn’t need or want a 7 star hotel I wanted to feel like I lived in Marrakech like a local for a week but with just the right level of training wheels a Cdn would appreciate. I’m coming back with my wife and kids and we’re staying here it was just great in so many ways.
Walking down the alley on my first night back tot he room felt a bit uneasy until I quickly realized every town looks out for each other in this Moroccan cul Ul de sac

Verified reviewWe had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this riad in the heart of Marrakech’s old medina. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with incredible kindness by the staff, who were always smiling and attentive. A very special thank you to Ismael, Adnane, and Fatiha, who truly made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was far beyond our expectations: rich, generous, and a perfect mix of traditional Moroccan flavors and international options. What we loved the most was that it could be served at any time of the morning, a real luxury for newlyweds on their honeymoon. Unlimited tea and coffee were available at all times, making us feel right at home. The terrace was a peaceful retreat with a breathtaking view over the Marrakech Secret Garden , without the need to queue or buy tickets. The room, decorated with a beautiful touch of Moroccan tradition, was simply perfect for couples, romantic and cozy. We also appreciated the safety of the neighborhood (the riad’s streets are monitored by cameras) and the friendliness of the neighbors. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the medina, with many landmarks and places to visit just a short walk away. On top of that, the riad is connected to a traditional hammam with massages and a lot of other options, which made the whole experience even more complete and relaxing. In short, we truly felt at home in this riad. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, romantic, and serene stay in Marrakech.

Verified reviewThe owner was super friendly and helpful. On arrival he met us on the street and confirmed our booking names so we knew he was legit. He then served Morrocon tea and cake by the mini pool. He then spent 30 minutes making on our google map all the places we might want to visit, explained about the fixed price market and how to get there - to give us an idea of prices before barterring in the market. Our room was right next to the pool and the accommodation was a traditional Riad with central couryyard, shutters and roof top terrace. Breakfast included was amazing - ommlette offered plus fresh fruit, cakes, ample amounts of bread with jam, honey etc. They couldn't have gone more out their way to be helpful and friendly. The location was as central as you could get, one minute from the myriad of lanes in the central market. We had a 9pm flight on departure but he let us leave our bags, sit around and return late where we were still offered a pot of Moroccon tea. Fab all around!
Nothing.

Verified reviewWe really liked our stay and we were sad it was only for one night, because the people there were very nice and kind, they helped us with everything we needed and we could ask about anything. They also kindly printed our boarding passes, which helped us plenty. The accommodation was really nice and offered an unforgettable Marrocan experience, featuring a Marrocan style of housing (however, the bathroom was the European one with flushing toilets). Everything was nice and clean. Also, the accommodation offered a jacuzzi for free as well as breakfasts, and they also offered a gluten-free version, which we appreciated very much. Without a heartbeat, I would definitely book this accommodation again.
I definitely wouldn't say I didn't like this, but it was a bit hard to find the accommodation since it's in the big market. Also, the alleys and streets give of a Blair Witch vibe (similarly to Venice in Italy), so be careful about the navigation and try to remember where you're supposed to go. However, the staff was very helpful in this regard, so do not worry, the accommodation is definitely worth the search for it. So if you like travelling and exploring (as well as a great place to stay in) definitely book this one.

Verified reviewThe room was gorgeous. The four post amazigh style bed was decadent and amazing! The riad was close to everything, food herbs and spices and friends. The spa was amazing. I had a 3 hr Hammam and massage. I literally cried after the Hammam. I felt loved and cared for in a way I have never felt in a spa.

Verified reviewOur stay at Riad Princesse du Désert in Marrakech was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in warmth and luxury, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Abdel, Adna, and Elias. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made our experience truly special—they went above and beyond to ensure every need was met with a smile. The riad itself is a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture, featuring intricate details, peaceful courtyards, and a beautiful pool that offered the perfect oasis from the vibrant Medina. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean, blending comfort with authentic Moroccan charm. Each morning started with a delicious traditional Moroccan breakfast—fresh pastries, seasonal fruits, homemade jams, and mint tea—served with such warmth that it felt like sharing a meal with family. What truly sets this riad apart is the exceptional service. Abdel, Adna, and Elias made us feel not just welcome, but truly cherished. Their friendliness, dedication, and thoughtful gestures transformed our stay into something unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend Riad Princesse du Désert to anyone looking for a magical experience in Marrakech. It's a hidden gem where luxury meets heartfelt hospitality.
There is nothing to dislike about it.

Verified reviewOur stay in this riad was amazing! It is located very central, just about 2 minutes walking distance from the souks. The staff was incredible, we were welcomed with tea, homemade cookies and a big smile. We were even upgraded to a bigger room since there were constructions right next to our originally booked room. The rooms themselves are very clean and beautiful. The breakfast was great; tasty and very varied. We also had a great time in the jacuzzi :D I’d honestly say it was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I’d definitely repeat and I fully recommend it. Thank you!!

The location was good as it was only a short walk to the restaurants, main attractions, and cafes but far enough away that it was quiet
