How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location is perfect. Less than 5 minutes walk from the main square, but down a alley full of street stalls and food vendors, the second you walk out you are in the middle of all the craziness which I loved, so location was perfect 👌 the place was spotless and simon himself is the most kindest person I can see why he has a 5star reviews he is funny and kind. We will definitely come visit again when we come back to marrakech.

Unfortunately the room was dirty: spit and hair in the sink, hairs in the bedsheets when I first got there

Verified reviewThe owner is incredibly cordial, and his availability is constant. It didn't matter if we had a question at eight in the morning or late at night, he was always reachable and ready to help, making the stay incredibly relaxing. Add to that the breakfast, which is particularly good, full of local flavors and perfect for starting the day.

Not sure if I did something wrong but my room's air conditioning automatically stopped at about 8am.

Verified reviewRight in the middle of the medians, super close to everything and easy to find. Once inside it was very quiet and easy to sleep. The bed was hard but we felt very refreshed in the morning for it. Good breakfast on the rooftop, as it’s a riad there were no windows in the room so it felt a little dark and claustrophobic but the room was large and comfortable enough. The bathroom is right at the foot of the bed, barely separated by a curtain; if travelling with someone make sure you’re very comfortable with that set up… Try nice owners, welcoming and friendly.
There is not much in terms of any other facilities. Would be lovely to be able to order some mint tea or drinks on the rooftop. The riad is very small, so it’s o my rooms and a reception area downstairs

Verified reviewIt was perfect stay, amazing host, central location 5min walking from Jemma el Fnaa and cozy we feel it like home

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, just steps from Jemaa el-Fnaa, right in the heart of the Medina. Step outside and you’re immersed in the energy of Marrakech, which is perfect for people who want to explore the old city. I stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious and came with a kettle, coffee, and basic amenities. I was welcomed with a refreshing glass of orange juice, which was a nice touch and at home feeling.
That said, the entrance is quite hard to find, the door is small and inside the Medina. It took me about 10 minutes to locate it while dragging a heavy suitcase, asking locals for directions. One surprising moment: I returned to my room to find a cat sleeping on the bed. It seems a small window had been left open, allowing the cat to come and go. I don't dislike cats, but it felt a bit uncomfortable. The room was also quite dim, which made it difficult to work on a laptop. If you're looking for a local, immersive Medina experience, this place has charm—and for those wanting to experience a riad at a reasonable price, it could be a nice choice.

Verified reviewRiad Simon is a perfect choice in every way! The riad is in a great location, and the Marrakesh atmosphere hits you the moment you step outside. The main square is close by, and you’re literally in the heart of the Medina. The place itself is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. There’s also a large rooftop terrace. Simon, the owner, is a very friendly, kind, and welcoming person. He’s very flexible, you can talk to him about anything, and he’s always ready to help. On top of that, he has a cat called “Sisi” who, surprisingly really good at playing football 😀 I can recommend this accommodation to anyone. Naturally, since it’s in the middle of the Medina, it can sometimes be noisy, but that’s true for all of Marrakesh, as the city lives 24/7. So you really can’t go wrong with this place—it’s a perfect option for solo travelers, couples, or even families.

Verified reviewLovely little riad near the main square. They have a really friendly little cat who is just adorable. The host was great and printed our boarding passes for the airport too. I was worried it might be noisy as it's on a main street but we didn't have any issues.
