How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA lovely cabin right at the entrance to Zabljak, perfect for a couple who wants to hike in the area. The cabin is small but super cozy and warm and has everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen. It is very clean and looks brand new. There is a supermarket 5 minutes drive away and the entrance to the Black Lake and the nature reserve is 10 minutes drive away. The access to the well-known P14 road is also very close. It has self check-in and checkout, but the owners of the cabin are super nice and available almost at any time on WhatsApp and help in any way they can. Perfect!
It's not a minus, but because the cabin has triangular shape the shower head is low and might be a challenge for very tall people :). Also the bed is in a second floor with steep stairs so might not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

It is in the perfect location to explore Durmitor-Nationalpark with the possibility for grocery shopping and eating in restaurants. The host was extremely friendly and available via WhatsApp anytime.

Verified reviewLovely property, very friendly and attentive host. Great location (short walk to centre). Nice treats left for us on arrival.
The building work outside the front of the property means that there isn’t really a view. Also, the construction starts at 7am or earlier and is loud banging. The construction men can also see directly into the bedroom unless you close the curtains fully.

Verified reviewIt was very updated and had a cozy vibe to it. The host was very helpful when our car broke down.
It was slightly far from town and the water heater was loud, but not horribly loud.

Verified reviewWe really liked the place, the wooden house, it was a comfortable corner. And the lady was always a sympathy and care, always being available to help solve all the issues.
I will say that the only less positive point, and hence not be 10, is that some informative details, such as the oven plate having its own ideas :) or having turned off the boiler unintentionally for lack of information and taking a cold shower, reduce the score to 9. But otherwise impeccable.

Verified reviewThe houses are beautiful, very recent and clean. Behind the house there is an open field which is perfect for evening walks. The front is a bit less nice as it is close to the main road, but that also adds to the conveniance. Location is top to explore Durmitor national park. The host is incredible attentive, always accessible and frequently checks that everything is well. Highly recommendable!

Verified reviewBeautiful house. The host was very attentive. Everything we needed was in the house.
At night it can be tricky to go down the stairs. There is not a small light to leave on. There is not a clear parking space, although it is possible to leave the car there.

Verified reviewCozy, comfortable and clean bungalow near Zabljak. Free parking and own car is a must. Super friendly host Bane who helped us in any kind of questions about cabin or area.
There was a construction site straight in front of bunglalows which affected to views. Workers were at work from 07-16 so its not that bad. it’s not host fault and propably affects only this year.

Verified reviewThe house is lovely, really well located just a few minutes drive from Zablajk. The house is cozy and comfortable with everything you need for someone travelling to Durmitor National Park for a hike.
It's a little difficult to find on the road, and the parking area is gravel. One drawback is that the views are covered by another house. It is difficult to find things we didn't like, though.

Verified reviewThe owner of the cabin went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He helped us, checked in via messages to see how we were doing, and was incredibly kind. The place was perfect — beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest details. Nothing was missing. The only issue we had was that the hot water ran out in the middle of a shower — but that was the only downside.
