How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Unfortunately the dishwasher didn’t work. We had issues with the hot water as well. Day 1, not enough hot water for one shower each. After liaising with the property manager, she offered to get a serviceman in to look at it- we turned this down as we didn’t want that disruption on our holiday. We planned to have a very short shower each the next day. Day 2 no hot water for a shower at all! By luck we found a switch in the hall next to the light switch that should’ve stayed on to heat the water. There wasn’t any note or signage to say this switch needed to remain on. We delayed our plans an hour so we could shower. We were given a discount for the issues. We would rather have paid the full price and had accomodation that was a good standard snd everything worked.

The hot water was not working because the boiler had been switched off at the hallway switch — this is not meant to be turned off, and there was no reason to do so. As soon as you informed us, we immediately offered to send to resolve the issue, but you declined the assistance, saying you did not want any disruption during your holiday. The same applies to the dishwasher. We offered to have someone come and check it, but again, you chose not to allow that during your stay. Despite these issues being caused by guest actions and the refusal of help offered, we still provided a discount as a gesture of goodwill. We always strive to give our guests the best possible experience, but we also rely on cooperation when problems arise to resolve them quickly and effectively Best regards

Verified reviewSuper comfortable and nice apartment, very close to Zabljak center. It has space for everyone, and it has a lot of facilities. Parking is also in front of the building, we didn't have any problems. The host is super nice and flexible. Recommended!

Verified reviewSuper comfortable apartment with everything you need. Beds are super comfy. Location is perfect, near city centre but far enough to have no noise and tourists in front of the building. Free parking place is no doubt great feature cus all around Zabljak parking places are paid.

Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with your stay at our property. During your stay, you violated several house rules, including those prescribed by law, and your behavior was inappropriate and disturbing - both to me personally and to the lady who takes care of the apartment maintenance. We always try to provide our guests with a pleasant and comfortable stay, but we also expect a minimum of respect towards us.

Verified reviewWe stayed in the apartment for a few days and had a really good experience. The place was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Great location – close to hiking trails and shops, yet quiet and peaceful. The host was kind and helpful, and communication was easy. Verified reviewThe location is very comfortable and close to supermarket and atm and restaurants. Free parking infront of the building. Dishwasher is a great bonus.
While our stay there was some construction works just above our appartment. It was super noisy all day. Owner said she didnt know and couldnt stop them. We couldnt stay in the appartment all day! The owner offered discount as compensation and apologized. We accepted. Beds are somewhat small.

Verified reviewGreat location and great view from the apartment. The apartment itself is very big and in a quiet building. It has comfortable beds, couches and an excellent shower. Aircon is available but it was cool enough outside that we didn't need it. Great cooking facilities and kitchenware. Check in very straightforward, Good responsive host. Easy parking. Overall faultless. A deserved 10/10.

Verified reviewGreat location. Easy walk to everything, restaurants, the national park, bus station. The apartment was really great. Everything was in great shape. Very clean.
Credit card payment is NOT an option, even if you provide credit card information in your initial reservation. The owner/manager of this apartment requires cash payment...even if she is not on site to collect it. There was no communication about payment during my visit. I did not leave cash in the apartment upon my departure and ended up sending a wire transfer for payment upon my return to the US, raising the final cost significantly...and creating quite a stir for the owner/manager.
I'm glad you liked the apartment and enjoyed it. This type of payment is not possible in Montenegro and this is a unique case where the guest left the apartment without paying. Best regards, Milena

The location is perfect—peaceful, surrounded by nature, and just a short walk from one of the most beautiful trails I’ve ever experienced. Whether you're into hiking, relaxing, or exploring Durmitor National Park, this spot is ideal. The apartment itself was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable, the view from the window was stunning, and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing.

Verified reviewHouse was warmed up and clean, I enjoyed sandwich maker and dishwasher, view from the windows is nice, internet was ok.
I heard neighbors pretty well, shower is not fixed to the wall, very hard to set up water of appropriate temperature, shower door is broken.
