How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is an amazing place for a secluded vacation! The house is very beautiful and cozy, with many interior details that create a special atmosphere. There is everything you need, including dishes, towels, bed linen, shampoos and gels, tea, coffee, sweets, and even a nice bonus in the form of a decanter of rakia. The service is excellent. We arrived in cold weather, but the owner took care to warm up the house for us. The house has air conditioning and an electric fireplace on the first floor. The living room is very warm, and the bedrooms are cooler upstairs, but still comfortable. The beds are nice and comfortable. In addition, we ordered breakfast, which was very tasty and inexpensive. I would definitely recommend staying here!
All was excellent!

Verified reviewCozy cabin with a very good location for hikers and nature lovers. We stayed two nights and very much enjoyed it. It has a heating and an electric fireplace, which was the best after spending a cold October day outside. Moreover, there a some nice decoration elements which makes it very cozy. I can highly recommend the place!
The cooking utensils (especially the pans) are a bit worn and could be replaced by new ones.

Verified reviewThe owner was incredibly hospitable! We arrived in heavy, cold rain. The owner warmed up the room for our arrival, set a table with a bottle of rakija with goblets and even gave us the homemade blackberry juice. The house has everything you need. Cutlery, tea, coffee, sugar, honey, bowl of candies (we haven't seen anything like this anywhere else). It feels warm and comfortable inside. The breakfast was very good. And of course the place itself is incredible.
The water is flowing out while you're taking a shower. The towel has a slight smell of cigarettes. Something wrong with a hanger in the bathroom. It would be also perfect to have a washing machine in the house.

Verified reviewThe google maps location was not exact - you have to search for exact name of the location in maps to find it. Location was good if you are traveling by car, as walking distance to the town Zabljak is quite far. Overall attractions are near. The place itself was clean and comfortable, had steep stairs, however shower water pressure was low and curtains did not help from wet bathroom :) overall stay is good, they had rakija as a welcome gift.

Verified reviewAtmospheric place with a special aura. We really enjoyed our stay! The peace, nature, and coziness created the perfect setting for relaxation. A special mention goes to the black dog, Haro — the kids were absolutely thrilled! He might have been their favorite part of the whole trip 😊 Highly recommended for anyone looking not just for accommodation, but for a place with character and warmth.

Verified reviewBeautiful house, we enjoyed 5 nights in it, the yard is beautiful, and the owners are even more wonderful, they answered every question we had. They have two wonderful dogs with whom we played during our stay. A real homely and honest house.
Everything was perfect.

Verified reviewWe made a late booking in the evening but Darko and Vesna had their A frame house ready for us within the hour with a lovely welcome; a vase of spring daffodils on the table and a glowing electric fire making the place warm and cosy. And that was the start of four fabulous nights staying in Mountain House Drveni Raj. I don’t think we can remember, in all of our travels, a more hospitable family. We normally self cater when travelling but with Vesna’s cheese pie and other homemade delicacies, including priganice (which will be on our menu when we get home) we felt truely spoiled. The house is within easy access to the Durmitor Ring Road, Sedlo Pass and Black Lake - with magnificent views of the mountains and geological formations. We spent one whole day driving the route. The road is entirely paved although the southern section is probably in better condition than the northern. And the house itself? Like most A Frames you sleep upstairs while the living/kitchen/bathroom are on the ground floor. We accessed the upstairs rooms (there’s a dividing door between them) via a paddle staircase with handrail and spindles to make it a safe climb. The kitchen had all we needed for preparing simple meals with kettle, microwave, two ring hob, sink and cookware. We were sad to leave this friendly family. Aro, one of their dogs, accompanied us on a local walk in the beautiful countryside in bright sunshine. It snowed overnight and the next day, when we left, Vesna came out to brush 50mm of snow off our car. Thank you Darko & Vensa for making our short stay with you so memorable.

Verified reviewThe host is amazing. He brought us food that his mother cooked and took care of us. We also loved Aro the dog. The place is exactly what we wanted - out of the (not beautiful) town, with beautiful view and quiet. Just a mountain hut. There's heating which works great.
The stairs are a challenge, especially if you need to go to the toilet at night - oh my god. The sink in the bathroom is very small. It's great for 2-3 days, and then this issue with the stairs becomes too much.

Verified reviewA cauzy house with a view to the forest and the mountains of Durmotor. The yard is big and beutiful. We ate our breakfast that we cooked at the terace enjoying the view and the rural atmosphere. The kitchen is well equiped including microwave oven and toaster.
The steps to the second floor might not be comfortable for everyone. worked good for us

Verified reviewGreat accomodation in a quiet area. Great staff who were friendly and helpful. Nice area near a ski village. Located on the owners property. Close to town where you can find everything you need
A little hard to find. The stairs to the second floor (bedrooms) is more like a ladder, absolutely fine for us but if you have poor mobility or balance this is not the place for you
