    Poor cell phone reception.

Lovely, quiet rural setting within easy driving distance of Dunedin. Accommodation is one only stand alone cottage within 40 metres of host’s house but screened by attractive garden. Cottage very well equipped and comfortable.

The turn into the property can be challenging. However, Ngaire gives very clear instructions to stay safe. Best to arrive in day light as the turn into the property is not very obvious. But once you have mastered this, the second time is not so difficult

Ngaire was very communicative from the get go. This gave me confidence as it is a private homestay. The cottage is located just at the edge of town but a short drive gets you to most places in Dunedin. The cottage is just behind the owners' home with parking for one car. It is extremely clean(no stains inside the kettle or residual crumbs in the toaster). Bed mattresses are nice and firm and bedlinens are extremely comfortable. The kitchenette is suitable for light cooking with a microwave to heat up food and special containers where you can make omelettes or sunny side up eggs(my first time doing this in a microwave !). There is no stove top (this keeps the inside of the cottage fresh) but heavy cooking can be done on the bbq outside. The rest of the kitchenette is well kitted out and if you take the breakfast package, you can avail of the freshly laid eggs from their free roaming chickens. Throughout the cottage you can see the care that Ngaire has put into it. Air purifier to keep the rooms fresh and odour free. Warmers for cold days- although we were here in summer, the nights were chilly but the cottage remained warm and cosy. A comprehensive welcome manual including onsite information and instructions, recommended dining options and things to do around Dunedin can be found in the room. They even offer a tour of the farm by their 2 sons! Unfortunately, our stay was too brief to avail of this! Ngaire is welcoming and left us a small treat when we declined the simple daily servicing. We can feel the care and love she has poured into this little slice of heaven. Best of all was to wake up to the soft mists of the highlands with goats, chooks and deer all around. Barely any city sounds, just nature at its best. If you want to experience something different and enjoy the great hospitality of this family, hesistate no more and book a stay here! I will stop here and leave the other enjoyable bits for you to discover...

The Dunedin weather during our stay, but that's beyond the host's control....😅

Very clean, a quiet location, and yet still close to the city. Welcoming hosts who provided some very thoughtful extras beyond what we have experienced elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our stay at your cottage. Beautiful rural view of trees and paddocks. The beds are comfortable and warm. The cottage is warm and had good heating. It is so clean. The room servicing is good. It's quiet. The kids enjoyed looking at the animals and the baby was happy with all the different toys in the toy box. It honestly exceeded our expectations and we'll be sure to book here for our next trip to Dunedin 🙂

A hot plate for basic cooking would have been great as well as a rack to dry dishes or a dishwasher. Otherwise everything was perfect.
