The noise of people going past out room to the toilet also somebody fell over and then vomited in the toilet kept us awake

Our one-night stay at the Victorian house in Mt Eden, Auckland, was very pleasant. We appreciated the comfortable accommodation and excellent location. The house's classical figures and overall ambiance provided a unique and enjoyable setting.

Being June, the house being 115yrs old is cold without heating. The kitchen we didn’t stay loo long. Bedrooms were fine once the heating kicked in. The TV signal in our room was weak. We did struggle to make contact by mobile phone.

The price (mid-winter special) was amazing value. Central location, quiet, fab rooms (we had a king with ensuite), shared kitchen with full facilities, laundry. Great for several nights. Space to store food. Like being at home!

Bit draughty under the door of our room - it needed a draught stopper. Also the door latches were flimsy.

This was not what we expected at the time of booking. We had three rooms and still there were a few other rooms and one needs to share kitchen, bathrooms and toilet with others, which was not known at the time of booking.

Was quite late before everyone stopped moving around so I couldnt sleep. The toilet and shower room being away from the room wasnt ideal for going during the night. I woke up around 3 and needed the toilet and when I came out of my room there was a man and woman in the corridor outside my room. I was unsettled after that. Didnt manage to go back to sleep

The room was nice and spacious. Had plenty of places for clothes ( wardrobe & drawers ) Very clean

The description of the room and the featured amenities weren’t quite accurate. For example the kitchen and the washing machine is even for the kings suite shared with the rest of the house. That wasn’t mentioned in the description. Also we were a bit confused because the owner told us that using the washing machine comes with a fee which wasn’t even hinted in the description of the accommodation. Also it was a bit noisy, because you could hear all the footsteps of the passing other guests in the hallway next to our room.

A beautiful old house in a nice quiet residential suburb. Very friendly with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Private rooms, and lovely spaces to sit both indoors and outside in the garden. All areas were kept clean and tidy by the hosts.

King bed was very firm. The wooden floors were very noticeable when others were walking around the house, perhaps a carpet runner down the main hallway would minimise that.

My room did not have external opening windows and opened to an enclosed porch that also was passage way. Some interior maintenance around the bathrooms eg replacing the toilet roll holder and having place to hang towels in one of them would be awesome. I personally didn't like having to mix milk powder rather than fresh milk. . Perhaps some long life sachets in the rooms could be provided if fresh milk is not available.

Villma and Elmer were very friendly and hospitable . The interior design, artwork and furnishings were surperb. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathrooms were good . It was nice to have a shared out door seating and eating space. I would love to come back.

TV had Japanese/Chinese subtitles on and we couldn't get rid of them. Also couldn't get regular tv channels.

We stayed in the two singles bed room, the beds were bunks separated and unfortunately not really built for tall people, hubby slept on an angle. The other annoying thing was lack of toilet paper in bathrooms. I finally found a bathroom with toilet paper in third bathroom.

Beautiful decor, clean and well presented. Location was perfect for what we were travelling for. Host was amazing. We had two rooms due to four of us traveling. One was lovely, the other not as comfortable.

Parking is off-road but tight if full occupancy and you have small car.

The tv only had YouTube pay for movies, no normal TV, instead I used my phone and the WiFi connection to watch tv.
