Andy and his family were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Their home is beautiful and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. The view from our room balcony was breathtaking. It was a pleasure staying with them and will definitely come back here if I visit Auckland next time.

Andy and his family were all so welcoming, they really went above and beyond and made us feel at home! The room has a lovely balcony with table and chairs that has a great view across Auckland. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, bathroom clean, there was a walk-in wardrobe, and the kitchen has everything we needed. Incredible value for money!

My stay at Andy and Daisy's home in West Harbour was a pleasurable experience. From the moment I arrived, they and their sons were very hospitable. I enjoyed many a conversation with them and they taught me the way around the public transport system (I would highly recommend the ferry). Coming home from competition late at night was no worry and coming home to a warm shower and amazingly comfortable bed was second to none. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to travel to Auckland.

We stayed in the deluxe room with a terrace, and a beautiful view over the harbour to the city, Skytower and Harbour bridge. Our room, ensuite and shared kitchen and living areas were spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The family made us very welcome.This homestay was excellent value for money.

Wi-Fi issues thus tv wasn’t running smoothly. Heater in the room wasn’t working. The facilities are shared with the owner’s family, which wasn’t bad but a bit less private than we were looking for.

Owner very nice, property was clean and tidy, Nice view to Auckland center. Overall happy with the stay!

The location was peaceful, the facilities were comfortable, cosy and clean but the icing on the cake was the incredible view with our own little deck to sit and enjoy it all! And our hosts were friendly and hospitable!

A gorgeous night at Andy’s homestay. Everything is very comfortable, lots of space in the living and kitchen area for cooking and a beautiful view. We stayed in the deluxe king room which also had a balcony big enough for yoga and a breakfast overlooking the city. We felt relaxed and like we were a part of a home, not tourists looking for a place to stay. Great spot to explore the suburbs of Auckland in the car with the easy parking. If we’re over this way again, we’ll be back at Andy’s.

It is easier to get there if you rent a car. Public transportation would also take you there but it would take around an hour from city center.

The family was very nice. They made sure I had everything I needed on the room (fan, heater, tissues, water, TV, internet, Netflix, hangers, towels, shampoo, etc.) The room was very clean. The view from the room is amazing.

Great room, beautiful view. I'd have liked somewhere to work on my laptop or an armchair in my room. However I think I misunderstood and didn't realise the family don't use the lounge and table near the kitchen. So those were available to me if I'd wanted. Also if the weather had been nicer, there was a lively little table and chairs on the private, covered deck outside the room. Both father and son carried my case to the car for me, which was very much appreciated.

It is evident the hosts are very keen to provide guests with a comfortable and friendly stay. For context, my preference is to stay somewhere anonymous like a hotel/motel, ie, I prefer not to interact with hosts because I'm introvert and not comfortable feeling I'm intruding on their space. This accommodation is very much a family home so for guests who like to be sociable you should enjoy it. That said, for those who want to keep private I don't think the hosts would be overbearing or intrusive. Unlike some owners who perhaps provide a service as much to have social contact as to generate income, it wasn't my impression that's the service model. For people who are concerned about safety, the bonus of staying here is you know there's someone on site who is very accessible. For overseas/out of town travellers I'm sure the hosts would be very happy to assist with advice about the locality. The bed was very comfortable for me and I really appreciated the balcony with the view. Wifi was excellent and having Netflix and YouTube was great. There was a random, sharp "ping" noise that continued thru into the evening. I suspect it was metal roof cooling (?)

The hosts are super nice and very personable. The room was very comfortable and the shower ran hot. The bed was great. First decent night's sleep I'd had in days.
