“This is such a lovely homestay, one of our favourite stays in all of Indonesia. The family is incredibly kind and friendly as well as their multiple cats wandering around the property. The homestay is well laid out with a cute banana theme which is carried through the rooms which we loved. Also greatly enjoyed the food on offer for a very reasonable price. And they can arrange transport to and from Mt Ijen - we loved our group tour”
“Rani and Oussama are wonderful people and great hosts. They helped arrange everything, in including a Bromo sunrise trip off the beaten path. No distracting crowds of tourists, most of the time it was just the driver and me. They will also make you some delicious meals with vegetables from their garden, and are very environmentally conscious (compost, no plastic bottles etc). Come here if you love nature, peace and quiet, and want to see a real community near Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.”
“Our stay at Brak Homestay was made truly special by the host, Budi. He is an exceptional person who will go out of his way to help. He picked us up from the train station, booked our bus tickets, and was incredibly compassionate, letting us check out late when my partner fell ill. He’s also hilarious, makes great tea, and has a real knack for cheering people up when they're stressed.
The homestay itself is cozy, clean, and has everything you need. It features a huge, peaceful courtyard and is in a great location, walkable to local spots (including two good chicken shops!).
If you're visiting Probolinggo, I can't recommend this place enough. Budi also gives fantastic local advice and can arrange your Bromo tour. A lovely place run by truly wonderful people.”
