Great stay at Alegria! We stayed at Alegria for two nights and really enjoyed it. The location is beautiful – right in the heart of nature. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended!

The curtains in our room did not cover the entire windows, so in the morning, sunlight would wake me v early (but that is also just me)

The room was v clean and with a view of the hills and mountains. Breakfast was made with fresh local ingredients and always on time. The place is close to a lot of hiking trails, so we did no need to use the car at all. Will come again.

Just a little thing. It was said that the breakfast is from 8am, one day when we were leaving the hotel early, we came at 8am and wait for 30 min for the breakfast to be done.

It is small, comfortable, cosy, clean hotel with pleasant staff. The view from hotel is incredible! We also enjoyed our breakfast and the whole atmosphere.

The location, the room, everything was perfect for our short stay (2 nights). Free parking. Perhaps they need to trim the main door as it got stuck half way but this is just a detail. We had breakfast included and everything was good. I can't comment on long term holiday. Very friendly people that are running the place. We enjoyed our stay and we do recommend this place.

Great view and location, delicious breakfast with local products, perfect size of room and comfort, nice yard with green grass, tables and lounges, beautiful rural view of the hill in front of us, horses and sheep on the hill pastures, great view of the mountains in the distance and a nice sunset reflected on the mountains. At the end of the village there is the start of the mountain trail that goes alongside a river, nice and peaceful. Lots of things to do in the area.

I was very displeased with an incident on the first night and the way the staff dealt with it. The shower base is completely flat and the drain was not working properly. The bathroom and the entrance got flooded and I was wiping the floor with towels at 11pm as I did not want to disturb anyone. The next day I was told it was probably not properly cleaned the day before. No gesture of courtesy or offer of discount. They knew about it, there were a few previous comments about flooding, the bathroom furniture showed signs of water damage. We were not warned, they only said it did kot happen in a while (the last comment about flooding was from three months before) It did not happen on the second night. I asked for a discount myself upon checkout, after inquiring with Booking.com about the possible solutions. I was offered 10EUR (towards 72EUR/night) out of the Manager (or whatever she was, she did not introduce herself) pocket instead of a proper compensation. I accepted it and left the same amount in cash in the room as a tip for cleaning. Very poor customer relations policies and skills.

The place and breakfast were fantastic, the staff in general kind and attentive. Coffee and tea are available all day and kitchen can be used by guests. Nice design touches in the common area and the room.

Breakfast is basic. We had a problem in our shower for 2 days, the water didn't go down. The hosts tried to fix it but it wasn't that successful. Value for the money isn't great.

The shower had a very big issue. We were not able to shower without all the water running outside the bathtub, reaching even the bedroom in the first night. After a less than 5 min shower, the water was all over the place because the bathtub drain was not working properly. We managed to clean all the water with towels every night. Also, the breakfast was quite basic and the same every date. In the last night, a group of tourists were allowed to check in very late, at around 00.30 in the night, very noisy and loud, screaming and shouting in the doors (most probably drunk). We got scared and initially thought that someone tried to rob the house. The host should better select their clients. Last thing, the mattress was not at all comfortable. It was way too soft and I woke up with back pains every day.

My doubts about this place started when I received a WhatsApp message from a woman working in this hotel requesting to transfer to a bank account a deposit of 30% of the total cost due to the fact that they had a lot of cancellations recently. On the day of arrival, I didn’t receive any check-in instructions, but I wasn’t worried, because the description of the place said that there is a 24-hour front desk. When my partner and I arrived, there was no front desk, the place looked deserted. We had to wait for 15-20 minutes (the problem was not the time, but the fact that nobody contacted us, I didn't expect that after a whole day on the road I would sit and wait for someone without any idea of how long to wait). When the lady finally showed up, she looked like we disturbed her from something very important. After we entered the room and spent some time there, we noticed that the walls were so thin that we heard *everything* that was going on in the room above us, and in the room next to us. The shower didn’t have a door, so all water flowed out, and there was no hand soap. We were really upset because we wanted to spend Christmas here, and now it seemed like a bad idea. I texted this lady who worked there (Madalina) and said that I would like to pay for 1 night we spent here, but make a check out in the morning (originally, we booked 3 nights). She replied to me that she’s very sorry for the inconvenience we experienced and because of this I won’t pay for 1 night that we spent here. She asked only to cancel the booking from my side. I did that. In the morning I received a really horrible message from the owner of the place (Ecaterina), in this message she called me “a tourist that doesn’t want to pay”, said that I made up all the problems mentioned above and added that they’re very happy I want to leave. It was so unpleasant that this situation was the reason for this review. In the end I did what I intended to do, paid for 1 night, and left.

The only positive experience was the manager who spoke English, he helped us with the checkout process, and called the booking customer service. I wish he’d been there from the beginning, maybe the whole situation could have been avoided.
