Very attractive, two-story apartment directly under the roof. Very spacious.

I was never able to get the wifi network in the room to work (but I was able to go downstairs and use the network from the cafe)

The location of this place was ideal--right in the center of the old town. There's a cafe downstairs that allowed me to hang out and work while I waited for check-in time. The room itself is pretty large and the kitchen is well-equipped and has legit coffee and as well as sugar. The bed was insanely comfortable--top quality. It was hot when I arrived (98F) and the air conditioner in the room didn't work, but the host was super responsive to my messages and actually went out, bought an oscillating fan (and a very nice and large one at that, not just a basic fan but one where you can add water for coolness) and brought it over very quickly

The apartment is above a cafe which didn't close until midnight so was noisy. Also, the aircon machine was really noisy too so I didn't get much sleep. My husband slept through the whole lot 🤣.

The apartment was clean and had everything you needed. It was spacious and comfortable. The bedroom was on a different layer ( hayloft type thing). This was fine but for me, the stairs/ ladder were a bit narrow and I was nervous getting up in the night to the loo without a light on. There was also a narrow winding staircase up to the room- we had rucksacks but not sure how a suitcase would have worked ( again, that could just be me). The apartment is in a building that part of an art gallery.

Comfort and light were not optimal. Beds on the upper level are best for kids or young people.

Very well located on top of a café and cultural center. It was convenient to relax and have a drink before.

The sound-proofing is not the best, the walls might be too thin, we could hear the each other from the different suites

Unfortunately, I didn't get breakfast on the 2nd day as I had to leave the hotel at 7.30am.

It was very pleasant. Playful, romantic, small hotel with beautiful apartments. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood and has a nice restaurant.

It was under our expectations - a fold-up couch instead of the bed for two we thought we would Get, we reserved the place for 5 people and got every thing for 4 (cups, breakfast, etc.). The location is over a cafe, which we also didn't expect.

Steep stairs up to bedroom. You have to be normally fit to climb them, especially at night down to the bathroom.

Breakfast in a basket, which was totally fine. Bread, cheese etc all in there.

The room was quite hot

The recidence is placed near the city centre. Breakfast is prepared by the staff and it can be adapted according to food intolerances. There's also a café which is really nice if you want an aperitivo or an after dinner cocktail.

Well, just to be clear, this is nothing negative about the hotel or the staff, it is just because the buildung itself is very old and our room was located in the attic: the stairs are pretty steep and narrow, so at least our room would not be pleasing for eldery or disabled people, but there are other options and i'm sure the staff will inform you!

Very nice place in the old town. Beautiful terrace for enjoying the breakfast and some drinks in the evening, staff was very friendly too. We were allowed to park our motorcycles directly at the hotel in a small court which was very nice.

Great location, a lovely atmosphere, kind and helpful staff. Studio equipped with kitchenette. Nice fresh breakfast served in a basket, along with very good coffee.

Limited breakfast, difficult entrance to the pedestrain zone with communication to the hotel.

A characteristic building in the heart of the old town, clean, big and modern comfortable suit room, very lively atmosphere, bar with a city view terrace, easy to reach everywhere.

We didn’t know the apartment would be split level with a very narrow and steep staircase to the bedroom. My husbands retired parents were staying with us and struggled to use the stairs at night to go to the bathroom. Had we’d known about the staircase we wouldn’t have booked. Additionally, two of the beds squeaked enormously which wasn’t very comfortable when sharing a single room among four adults.

Adorable building with well preserved original wooden staircase and interior. amazing location for a good price, great place to stop off on route and to see Kranj on your way. Breakfast delivered to the door was available before 9am, which consisted of fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, milk and spreads.

Cosy friendly place.. Backyard terrace great for having a coffee in the morning to start your day or having a drink in the evening where you can meet other people You can also choose to browse their Librery collection having a tea or work on your online project. This place meet all my expectations.

The stay at the Layer House was absolutely great. The apartment, the facilities, the cleanliness. Also, the location is at the center of the old town so it’s a great starting point for discovering the area. The staff is very nice and friendly and they also picked me up from the airport at the time when there were no more buses going to Kranj. So I have to say it was really a wonderful stay and would come back again.

Layers Residence offers a calm and convenient location in Kranj’s Old Town, within walking distance of the city center and main attractions. The on-site café is a lovely spot for morning coffee or evening tea, with both open-air and indoor seating options. I’ve stayed here multiple times and always appreciated the warm, welcoming staff and relaxing atmosphere. A comfortable and charming place to return to.
