There is construction in the neighborhood and several buildings look abandoned. But we felt very safe walking about. This is old Bangkok to be sure. Right near Democracy Monument. Short 15 minute walk to see sunset from the golden mount temple.

This is an old style hotel, a bit faded elegance decorated in older fashion. Clean. Think elegant dark wood furnishings, flower prints, a little lace. Had enough plugins for our devices and wifi worked well. It is run by the original owner. She is 81 years young, and greeted us with an old world charm and elegance. We found her charming. She speaks English well and enjoys conversing with her guests. Our room was small but very comfortable, a queen size bed, lovely cotton bedding. Great bathroom, good water pressure. Very nice breakfast for 250 Bhat per, served with style in main reception area. A bit like visiting your old auntie. Can walk to experience the chaos of Khoa San Road in about 10 min. Good sleep, very little traffic noise as it is down an alley. We liked our one night stay. Not a party place at all. We are older adults and as such definitely appreciate the quiet. Recommended!

The staff is exceptional, and there are affordable restaurants nearby. A nice little garden lake environment. Things could use some maintenance, but they honestly do not have the traffic to afford spending more money on the property, at least the time I was there. The woman behind the desk could not be better at her job, she is excellent

We had only one towel for both of us. They gave us a better room on arrival as ours was already occupied I believe. They offered us to stay in that room for an extra fee, but we didn't want to pay extra. So every morning they asked us to pack our luggage and leave it on reception as they promised to move us to a standard room, but at the end we stayed at the same room for no extra fee. A bit uncomfortable. And to get to that room you need to carry your luggage with no elevator for two floors. But the room itself was fine.

We stayed in a better room on the 7 floor that we’ve booked. Very nice and quiet. The lady on reception was extremely friendly and helpful.

Bathroom a tiny bit small with loo at strange angle - but actual shower lovely and big, so evened out 😊

The location is fantastic for Khao San Road & China Town area. Such a beautiful calm little oasis in a lively hot city! Really lovely welcome and the gorgeous lady who runs it couldn’t be more helpful if she tried. Fantastic value for money and perfect hospitality.

Unfortunately, it is evident that the ravages of time have left their mark on this hotel, and its glory days are clearly behind it. While old can still be charming, cleanliness was unfortunately lacking. Dust might have been tolerable, but the toilet and bathroom were not as clean as I would have expected. There were hairs in the bathroom and around the toilet, so we decided to wipe everything down before using it. We were also surprised to find no menu in the lobby, and after ordering a gin and tonic, we were initially told it would cost 390 baht per glass. After questioning it, the price was corrected to 290 baht, which still felt quite steep given the location. In general, drink prices seemed high compared to the local standards. That said, we were still happy to have chosen this place for our two-night stay and to explore Bangkok. Just be aware of these small inconveniences.

The hotel is in a great location for discovering Bangkok. The entrance, with its charming lobby, is wonderfully hidden, and coming from a rather dirty and dodgy-looking road, you’re pleasantly surprised to find an oasis with trees and plants. It’s a great place to sit and relax, staying cool throughout the day. The owners do their best to make your stay enjoyable—they are very kind, and the lady speaks good English, which we really appreciated. There were no outside noises at night, making it a calm and peaceful place to stay.

With a bit more focus on the cleaning in the rooms and bathrooms, it will be totally fine that it’s a bit out dated.

The hotel is located in the best area, and the building’s design is impressive. Our host was very attentive and friendly—a pleasant lady. The staff was also friendly, which made my stay in Bangkok even more memorable. I’ll visit again. Thank you very much.

It was located in the old centre of Bangkok, consequently, all of the main sights were within the vicinity. It was very clean. Additionally, the owner was very nice and accommodating. We also liked the air conditioning.
