The only downside was the breakfast. It was a very traditional Taiwanese breakfast, was hoping for simple scrambled eggs and bacon.

It was super clean and had nice staff providing all the room amenities.

The property is further from the city center than it appeared on the map. The only store I noticed within walking distance is the 7-Eleven. It says on booking.com that the hotel is a 10-minute drive away from various sites. Therefore, the front desk told us when we arrived that the only way to see anything was to get a car or taxi. I had a two-room dorm that I shared with my friend. No lockers were provided, so I recommend booking that room only if you know the other person in it. There were also very few open outlets (3 in the bedroom, 1 in the bathroom). It took a while to find but between the two twin beds I found two outlets including a USB one. Note that the elevator does not go to all floors. There’s additional security to get to some floors above 5 which means you’ll have to use a staircase for a couple flights of stairs. Be careful with your taxi driver from the train station. There are multiple Naruwan hotels with different price points in the area. Make sure you and your taxi driver know which one you’re going to. We arrived at the wrong hotel first which directed us to the correct one. But, when my friend and I arrived at the correct hotel, the front desk tried to send us back to the first hotel. When we said we’d already tried that one, he made some phone calls. In the end, we got checked into our rooms, and it all worked out.

The room was clean, and the beds nice. The bathroom was excellent with great shower pressure. It did not take long for the water temperature to warm up. The towels were good. I liked that complimentary ice cream, drinks, and popcorn were available in the lobby when I checked in. The decor was nice. If I had kids, I think this would be a fun place to stay. There’s a breakfast buffet which looked nice, though it does cost extra depending on your room type, so I didn’t try it. The hotel helped us find a taxi when we wanted to tour the county. Although I liked the property, I don’t know if I would stay here again since it’s location is further than I’d like from the city.
