Not a dislike, the property is an older property as well as furnishings which is as presented in pictures.

Great location-walking distance to bar harbor and 5 mins to Acadia National park. Free parking on gravel driveway. Breakfast was good-you sign up for 1 of 3 options the day prior with a time slot, they also offer to-go breakfast around 0600. Hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly. Originally booked a different room and when hosts ran into an issue with it they upgraded our stay to a suite for free and gave a phone call prior to our arrival. Rooms were clean and as described.

We had issues with opening the curtains and the bed seemed kinda small for two people. So we didn’t sleep as good as we wanted.

We had 3 different time slots to choose breakfast time and 3 options every day. Option A and B which change every day and C which is the same every day. Breakfast was very good and service was great! Sometimes I felt it wasn’t a much as I would like and me personally I like usually some other choices for breakfast as it seemed to be more like a brunch to me. But overall we were satisfied with it. The Location was great! Your right a small walk in the city and very close to Arcadia Nationalpark. Also its very clean everywhere and service overall is great! Super cozy stay and definitely recommend highly when in this area :)

We had no hot water until 11am on the first morning. Innkeeper did not do adequate service recovery. The innkeeper wanted to have a conversation in the middle of our breakfast - so it was awkward to try to eat and talk to her.

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were outstanding. Location was walkable to downtown. Welcome/orientation by gentleman innkeeper was thorough.

There were some things about the property that could be fixed up a little bit. Just a little updating. The owner was fabulous. Very kind and concerned about our stay.

It was very comfortable. It was located in a great spot to take in all the excitement of Bar Harbor.

The bathroom was small. The shower is a walk in with a sliding, detachable showerhead and a grab bar. Will accommodate a shower chair but not a wheelchair. The toilet does not have a grab bar or a nearby sink for leverage if that is needed. The bed wasn't very comfortable.

Excellent choice to stay when visiting Bar Harbor. Less than 5 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and about 8 minutes to Acadia. The Des Isles room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for our various bags (2 luggage racks!). The provided breakfasts were all tasty (you get to choose from 3 options and 3 seating times) and the people were friendly and helpful.

All breakfast options were quite heavy, and sometimes there was no hot water in the shower (I guess the latter is part of a historical hotel experience).

It's a historic hotel, and so it has a nice, quaint atmosphere. Room was reasonably spacious. Although the hotel is on a relatively busy street, it was quiet at night.

The hosts were fantastic - very helpful and hospitable. Every morning they serve a different breakfast which is delicious! Every guest gets to choose between 3 options. The property is very well maintained with a lot of detail that bring you a century back in time - unforgettable experience.

Breakfast was great every morning. We liked getting to choose from different options. We also enjoyed the DVD library and being able to watch movies in our room. This is also a great location for walkability. We didn’t need to use our car except to drive to Acadia.

beds are a little uncomfortable, especially the queen/full bed, kind of small for two regular sized persons and squeaky. The living/second bed room is east facing, the curtain is not thick enough to block the morning sun, especially summer time.

Clean, charming, friendly staffs. Location is great.
