When given our room, it was not swept, ashtray was dirty, freezer needed to be defrosted, and it needed to be fumigated for German roaches. We were moved to another room that was not swept, ashtray was dirty, freezer needed to be defrosted, burn holes in comforter. Very noisy for being in a quiet area at night. We were also entertained by a patron that came in at bar time playing his bass guitar. Would NOT stay again!

The staff was friendly and courteous and accommodating.

Needed some TLC maintenance wis e. I will give it credit for not having blood on the walls and shower curtain like the Motel 6 In York, NE.

Find help that does their job with house keeping so the rooms are actually clean. Hire more maintenance people to keep the rooms updated and in good repair Have a suggestion box or comment box located onsite like you do the key drop basket in the morning. Listen to the customers and fix the shit they say is broken in the room, I know I wasn't the first person to tell the front desk clerk who was the owner or the manage as I seen him working in multiple positions through out my stay telling otherer employees what to do and when

I asked the front desk clerk before booking the room about breakfast. He stated there was no breakfast and then started talking about the pet policy and the cheap rates they have because of not having breakfast and not having a steep deposit to have pets. Not at all what I asked so I was discouraged and left. So late at night there wasn't any other hotels that had vacancies. Dude was polite when I ended up going back to book a room. First night single bed room comfy was clean, tv worked shower was wet but full of holes from things being mounted to it over the years. No pool in the middle of summer, not even any water in the pool. Second night I decided to stay again as the rate was boarder line for the quality and I found a 24 hr. cafe dinner so get up check out and go there for breakfast. Really wanted to see what a different room looked like to compare how crappy the one was from the night before. Ended up in a double queen with a broken door safety hook right in the middle not doing a damn thing for safety, a bed so hard I felt like I was sleeping on the floor, removable shower head attachment head had to lay over the holder that was attached to the wall because parts of the actual shower head and hose was broke with no way to hang it up. The AC wasn't running, not because it wasn't on nor was the room cool but rather the unit itself wasn't working proper. The thermostat was possibly stuck or the switch was broke, one could fiddle with it, bet it to come back on then it go off after 15 min. The remote was taped together, The ice machine was located in the office are of the hotel and the rooms were all outside entrance capable leaving no hall ways to walk down to get to the office lobby for ice. I was located a half a block from the office making it so I had to jump in the car drive to the lobby just to get ice.

Not "What I didn't like"... but "To other travelers" If you want fancy, plush, over priced accommodations... this is not your place. But it is the perfect place if you are looking for an affordable place to rest. Thank you Motel 6 Mitchell SD.

It was what I was looking for. A clean quiet room for my dog and I. There are long term residents but they were polite and quiet. I stayed 2 nights and slept well.

Very aged and dated, needs multiple repairs, smoke detector disconnected and exposed wires on the ceiling. The shower appeared clean until I closed the curtain that was very dirty and needed to be replaced! There was a hole in the bathroom door.

The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, there were some spots that the support was so poor I was laying on the box springs instead of the mattress., the walls were absolutely filthy. There were several flies in the room. The pet area wasn't taken care of, I couldn't take a step without stepping in dog feces throughout the entire small section. The locks were keyed instead of key card, and the key provided didn't unlock the deadbolt from the outside of the room, just the door handle itself.

The price and pet friendliness is what drew me to this location. The air conditioner worked well throughout the night to keep the room cool.
