Rock Reef was a quick one night stay, to allow us to Scuba in the morning before heading to Miami. We did not arrive until 9pm, but staff had made arrangements to leave us a key, so we got right into our room. The next morning, we just dropped the key in a box and left - easiest check in and out ever, never actually saw a person. The room was about twice the size of a hotel room, with updated bathroom, Roku on the TV, and comfortable bedding. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was, especially for such a good price.

The door locks did use old fashioned key locks and were a bit fiddly to get to work right. They had just recently been replaced and were just a little stiff.

We decided to take a weekend trip to the Keys on a whim and were doing so on a tight budget. We decided staying in Key Largo offered the best value and choose Rock Reef Resort strictly by other reviews. The room far exceeded our expectations and was very clean and wonderfully comfortable and appointed. We got in late so we were shocked the next morning when we decided to take a look out back and found the wonderful amenities and landscaping. Pool, boat ramp, free kayaks, hammocks, Tiki gazebo on the dock and wonderful views out across the gulf. We will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

He prefers a softer mattress and wishes he had more time there to enjoy the amenities.

I booked this room for my son. He said the bed was very firm but the property was charming. He arrived late and the nice lady working there called and waited for him to arrive. He wants to return for a longer stay with the rest of the family.

beach area is very tranquil, they do not allow fishing which I really appreciated. Mangrove is plentiful and iguanas sun themselves on the beach. Palapas for shade, easy access into water, beautiful gardens and grass areas make a beautiful setting, kayaks for guests to use.

Arrived at 3:00pm and I room wasn't ready. It took them 1 hour to have it ready. It was clean and up to date can't complain about that. If you need it really quiet to sleep don't get the "city" view!! You can hear the traffic in the morning.

Enjoyed the hotel being on the bay. We spent time enjoying the view of the water and the breeze. It would be the perfect spot to watch the sunset if we had scheduled it in our plans. We couldn't beat the price. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. Absolutely recommend The Rock Reef near restaurants and entertainment. and Grocery stores.

Could have had more lounge chairs on the dock to watch Sunset and also more lounge chairs to lay out at the little beach. I thought beach would be bigger. Paddle boards were ok. Didn't use snorkeling equipment. Pool area was clean and recently painted.

The Location was ideal AND the grounds AND facilites were new and clean. Very well kept. The staff was very friendly. The owner, Miss Linda, lived onsite and was very approachable and friendly. She allowed us for early Check-In, since it was a weekday. Miss Olivia, Receptionist/Front Desk, also very helpful and great customer service. Sunsets were Breathtaking!! Worth The Stay Just for That!!

The furniture was dated and bathroom tiny. We seemed to have had a connecting door with the room facing the pool and could here their conversations.

The place was very clean, beds were comfortable and the views lovely.

Everything good. A little concerned about the suspect email received before the stay (many times) requiring additional information and card details but was reassured to ignore by the property.

Easy to find convenient location. It has its own pool area as well as a small beach and sunset pier. Well kept with good amenities in the room- fridge/microwave. Could go into the reception if you ran out of anything (loo rolls/tissues/cups etc) as house keeping will only go in every 3 days. Provided beach towels.

We had a wonderful time! The resort is great, the view is AMAZING and everything was spotless clean. A wonderful atmosphere and super nice people. Truly recommended.

Mosquitoes attacked us from the time we stopped until we got into our room. Then had to kill several once in the room.

Depending who the other people at the hotel at the time are, it can get noisy. Room service only on demand (we knew that in advance).

The hotel beach and the peer are great and nearly private. Lots of places to hang out outside. Cool to have some friendly Iguanas around. Free Kayaks, small pool. Chilled place to stay. Lovely coffee truck across the street (best fish restaurant too).

The facilities are what drew my attention to the property. The kayaks were a fun addition for our family and great value for money having them included in the room rate. The room was clean and well organised- clear instructions and well resourced- particular lovely to have all of the channels!
