Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandTo be able to sit in the room and enjoy the view would be good. We moved the furniture around (and back again) and it was really nice!
We loved the location and the view from the room was absolutely amazing. Loved the bed too.

United KingdomWindows didn’t open and the room had had a smoker in before us. Really smelly. Great views but needs modernising. Breakfast was not a buffet it was a la carte if you didn’t have a voucher. Lots of choice but massive portions I asked for half size and told it wasn’t possible neither was mixing fruit platters. Kids portions available but only to take away! Staff been told by new management you have it off the menu or not at all no deviations possible. Staff were lovely it wasn’t their fault they couldn’t change anything.
Location great for ferry into manhattan. Great walkway along the Hudson. Room from corner room was spectacular

CanadaSlightly older property so the rooms can use an upgrade and the breakfast options were very limited.
My stay was great, and the location was amazing. However, the breakfast food quality was good but the options were disappointing as there were no vegetarian choices in the included breakfast and even for paid options there was only 1 option.

United Statesthe lighting! The sitting area was not well lit. There was lots of room but it wasn't useful room. The bathroom had light only from the mirror. Needed light in shower. Not enough places to charge phones, etc. It would have been nice to have a light breakfast offered free for the cost of the room.
the room was large with a very comfortable bed and great bedding. The location was perfect with the ferry literally right outside the entrance!

NetherlandsThe airconditioner was a bit noisy. It was dark in the "office" part of the room. Another light point would be perfect. Even when be loved the breakfast, it would been nice to have a slight less sugary and healthier options.
We were as a family of 4 Mom and 3 big son's. The beds were queen size so a bit small for us 4. However we managed. The room was big enough, because we planned to be in the city as much as we could. We only slept there. The location of the hotel was amazing. just walking outside seeing the skylight was absolutely breathtaking. This was also the main reason we booked the hotel and so it matched and exceed our expectation. I loved that the busstop was just there and it brings you right where you need to be in New York. All very convenient and easy.

SpainMaybe a bit outdated, but nothing serious. I was very clean anyway.
Very clean and comfortable, and the staff were great. Very convenient location, just a few minutes from the bus stop (156-158-159, app NJ Transit) which takes you directly to the port authority bus station in 10-15min, a few minutes walk from Times Square. You can also take a ferry to Hudson Yards (great views, app NY Waterway). You can pay in both apps with apple pay and for the bus you can pay for any route and use the other ones (so you can take any of those buses). The transport worried me a bit before the trip but it was actually very easy.

ItalyThe only thing I did not appreciate was when we asked for an umbrella and we were informed they only sold one for 35$. Not everything should be profit.
Very nice location if you want to visit NYC. Very close to bus stop and ferry to manhattan. Safe and with a nice view of the skyline, a nice promenade where you can take a walk or do sports. Close to supermarkets and restaurants/cafes. Rooms are clean and spacious, bed comfortable. Nice staff

The hotel was very spacious, much better than a cramped NY hotel downtown. It's also in a quiet neighbourhood with bus access to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which was great for us. The breakfast voucher is very nice, and the restaurant was awesome. The staff were very nice as well. The view is something that makes this hotel completely underrated(don't increase the price please!) Overall amazing hotel experience.

United StatesIt is a bit of an older property but clearly cleaned and maintained well…I am not a fan of wall to wall carpeting.
Well located as we were in town to help our daughter move in to her apartment in Hoboken. It is nice that there is a bus nearby that goes directly into the city. There isn’t a lot right nearby the hotel, but you can walk along the waterfront into Hoboken in about 10/15” and it is a lovely walk :)

United KingdomThe rooms are a little dated and in need of refurbishment.
The views of Manhattan are absolutely class. We were in an upgraded room with City View. I’d definitely recommend it. The staff were very pleasant and always helpful. The cleaning lady always ensured we had enough coffee for the coffee machine in the room. The 158 bus into Manhattan was a 2 minute walk from the hotel and goes very regularly. The Italian restaurant in the hotel is good as well although we tended to go to Mokafe Cafe for breakfast. The bed was confortable and our son had a decent sofa bed at no extra cost. Wi-Fi was good and free.
