Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Haven of calm in the busyness of Hanoi. Great location near to our son’s home and loved the pool for a cool off, and spacious light room overlooking.

BahrainThe location is far from the busy old town, so if you want peace, it's perfect. Around the area tjere is no much, but the property is so pretty it's worth to take the cab every day. Ac was not so strong.
Very beautiful room, amazing facilities, looks like a designer room. The staff although spoke very little English, they were nice.

ZimbabweThe rooms did not look like i expected . I booked 2 suites. They looked like normal standard rooms. But clean and beautiful setting in old diplomatic home. I think with a longer stay, tea or coffee sachets, place would have been perfect... and pictures updated to fit rooms. I suite did not even have window. Also we had sick person so the long alley needs to be addressed as not easy access for disability
We had medical emergency so did not have proper time to evaluate.. place clean.. would have been nice to be able to make cup of tea or coffee when arriving late. No free coffee or tea sachets. We arrived very late and staff were excellent with sending instructions regarding entry.

Stylish quiet location away from the hustle of Hanoi but with in easy distance to all. Beautiful rooms and pool. Wonderful cafe downstairs. Feels like you have taken a step back into. The 1930s in this house of a previous diplomat. Quiet. Slept so well. Luna and the team were fantastic.

BelgiumWe loved our stay at Eclectique, by all means. Place itself is extremely cute and nicely designed, staff are always very smiley and helpful (especially Luna), rooms are how they look in the pictures, and the pool is so fun. I have to mention their drinks, their bac xiu for me was the best in my entire trip in Vietnam.

AustraliaWe would have loved a mini fridge in the room. Also we didn’t know that there was a laundry service or free water refills until we were checking out. But it was a beautiful place to stay. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful property, great pool, new comfortable beds and pillows. 10 minute walk to the lake. Staff very helpful, especially Tracy.

VietnamI’ve stayed in many places, but Eclectique felt truly special. It’s beautifully designed — cozy, artistic, and full of personality. The quiet alley it’s located in made it feel like a peaceful hideaway, yet I could get to the Old Quarter in 10 minutes. The host made me feel like a friend, not just a guest. Highly recommended for anyone looking to slow down and experience Hanoi in a deeper way.

VietnamThe moment I walked in, I felt like I left the busy city behind. The garden and the pool created such a peaceful vibe — it’s rare to find that in Hanoi! My room had a lovely mix of traditional Vietnamese touches and modern comfort. I spent hours just reading by the pool. A perfect spot for solo travelers and couples who want to relax.

VietnamI had a perfectly delightful three-day stay at Éclectique, filled with exceptional experiences. From the moment we stepped through the gates, we were immediately captivated by its striking design—an exquisite interplay of colors and architectural elements that exuded a distinctly European charm. It felt as though we were strolling past the elegant shophouses of Italy or France, embodying a refreshingly unique Airbnb aesthetic rarely found in Hanoi. The serene and tranquil atmosphere elevated our stay, making every moment of rest and slumber truly sublime. Every amenity in the room was meticulously curated, reflecting a keen eye for detail and an uncompromising commitment to quality. I was thoroughly impressed and would undoubtedly return should I have another opportunity to visit Hanoi. Absolutely loved every bit of it!

VietnamMaybe because it's newly opened, the service could be a bit quicker, but overall, for this pricing level, it's a solid 9/10.
The shared space is super spacious, with a beautiful and very clean pool. It has a French-style, chill vibe—feels like stepping into the Metropole. You can work or read on the ground floor, the coffee is tasty, the dining, kitchen area is spotless, and there's a classy reading room. The elevator is as fancy as a 5-star hotel, but the price is super affordable. The bed and pillows are brand new and super comfy, and the air conditioning works well.

But fortunately, they moved me to another one, that located in the building “B” and this room was really nice, but there was a lot of hair everywhere. Also, the water is swimming pool is dirty.
