Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicAll fine. It does a good job for the price.
Great stay. Room big and airy. No balcony but I knew that before I booked it. Warm water each day. Quiet - except for a few weddings that stopped at 2pm so not real problem. Close to beach 150m walk - I usually went to Kim Oanh on the beach, she was nice and rather funny. Also the Homestay, it’s opposite the market which I used most mornings to buy fresh fruit such as pineapple, bananas etc. They gave me a plate and knife so I could prepare the fruit each morning for breakfast. Shampoo and show gel toothpaste / brush in bathroom. Room cleaned most days. Also you get a beach towel which is really useful.

DenmarkWe would have loved to be able to have a conversation in English with the hosts, instead of Google translate.
Good location to the beach. Choice of breakfast was fine, super friendly hosts who left water every day, and came with fresh lemonade on a hot day. The son even went to the chemist and bought mosquito cream for us.

South AfricaI did not get the room I booked. The natural light was poor where the double bed was (no windows on that side). The Wifi was not the best, the connection was poor - might be because of the room I was in. The bed and pillows were not as comfortable for my body. I received water everyday, but the bottle seals/caps were broken/open, so the bottles were refilled. I was not on the market side, but on the side where the chickens were (ground floor), so the chickens woke me up very early in the morning and made a noise - they were right next to my room on the back side! I was not told that they lock the gate at night, and i was not given a key. I got home late one night and had to climb over the gate to get to my room - I asked for a key the next day.
The host(s) were very friendly, very lovely people. Barely or no English, but always friendly. We used google translate, which helped a little. Fresh Mango juice almost every day, which was very nice. The accommodation was close to the beach (a lot of sun beds available). Aircon made the room nice and cold. There was a fan too. TV with channels (but in Vietnamese). Fresh towels supplied often. Hairdryer, but I had to ask for one. A lot of lovely restaurants and spas closeby. They have water facilities outside for you to rinse your feet after the beach.

RussiaWe loved our stay at Hoi An Sea Village. Our room was lovely: comfy beds with mosquito nets (not a single bite of mosquitos + extra cozy vibe, in my opinion), a lot of space, aircon was great. Our room was quiet and we really appreciated that coming from noisy Hanoi. Location: perfect! It is very close to my favourite part of the beach and a lot of lovely coffee shops with delicious food that are reasonably priced. Drop off/ pick up for grab/ taxi is easy as the location permits cars to park close to the place. Pick up from the airport arranged by the homestay- was efficient, pleasant & convenient. Breakfast at the homestay: superb! It was always fresh , offered great options and was scrumptious! Mango juice was made from the mangoes that grow on the huge tree at the premises- the best I have tried during my travel time in Vietnam. However, the main reason I loved staying at this place is the top-notch, heart warming hospitality of Alice and her family! There were the sweetest hosts who were open, super helpful and understanding- we are extremely grateful for all their care during our stay. *Travel dates: End of May- early June, 2024.

United KingdomIt was all great!
The family is so lovely and made me feel very welcome! The decor reflects the name, the room was spacious & everywhere was kept clean/tidy. I slept the best I have in Vietnam. Great location, couple of minutes walk to An Bang beach, restaurants, bars & mini marts. You can pay by card or cash, however, the card machine doesn't accept contactless payments. Thanks for a great stay in your beautiful home 😊

AustraliaIt was perfect to us
We loved how relaxing this place was! It's located only 200m from the beach with plenty cafes and spa places nearby but the villa itself is very private. The owners are lovely, very easy going and hospitable people. Our room was very spacious. Both bathroom and room very clean. The breakfast were simple but freshly made and nice. The Grab ride to the Old Town is only about 10 min. I would definitely come back here again when staying in Hoi An.
