How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There is no kitchen and far from the beach. Not a walk away, as mentioned
Their booking was for my room 4 which is a large room sleeping 3 people with NO KITCHEN they were getting confused with the 2 bedroom chalet which has a kitchen. as per the pictures on the B.com website. The beach is just down the road from the B&B we have sea views from our roof garden.

The owners attitude
Yes, I was not at all happy with Mr Shepherd’s behaviour. firstly he tried to squeeze his way in as a guest, he booked for 7 people and they were 8 guests he was their driver. They were smoking their Hubbly Bubbly on my bed. Which left stains on the linen. They would not abide by our rules regarding no noise after 10:00 pm. which states on our website with B.com It was a nightmare of a weekend for us as Owners.

The owner was not welcoming at all, she asking us sarcastic questions, like have we booked before and do we know what is a meaning for BnB. Just because we thought it was guest house. When we inquire about the pool if we can use it, she basically told us we can use it if we will not disturb her guest which got me little lost cause I thought we were also her guest. Another comment which seems a bit off, she told us her pool is very deep and if we can not swim will drawn. I think we experienced a worse vacation ever, we asked her about the near by restaurants, she told us there is however they are very expensive as if we can not afford.
When they arrived for a booking for 2 nights, they had so many bags and packets as they said they thought they had booked a self catering place where they could cook their own food. I than had to show them their booking which was exactly what I had prepared for them. (My family room which sleeps 3 people). Their intention was that they were going to have a Birthday bash. That is when I explained the rules regarding noise to avoid any disturbance to other guests. Regarding restaurants I told them about a restaurant which was walking distance away from the B & B as they did not have a car, they said they were familiar with the area and knew all the restaurants in the area. I think because they could not have their Birthday function as intended. They chose to give us a bad review.

Verified reviewI liked the outside area, really soothing with the sound of the water fountain.
The TV wasn't in the best working order. We couldn't find the aircon remote as well. - No streaming facilities like Netflix, etc. For such a high price, I feel checkout should at least be at 11 to give the guests some time to actually gather themselves. 2- 10 is not enough time for the price.

Verified reviewWe had a horrible stay at Almost Heaven, Veronique is very RACIST, she knocked at our rooms at 22h00 pm like a police(My Mom was so traumatised) , telling us that we not allowed to use "her iron" or else we will be charged extra for it, every 5mins she's knocking at our to check if we haven't broke anything 😒, we felt like prisoners shame, I will never recommend that place to anyone 💔. In the morning she decided to give us the rusty iron that burns our clothes and removed her "Perfect Irons" because we will break it. On our arrival we were told that kids are not allowed, we apologised for that because we were unaware but we were told to keep them inside the room for safety purposes, we did exactly that and Veronique seems understanding but at night around 9h30 PM she came screaming at our rooms saying she doesn't want the kids we must leave her premises otherwise she will call the "Polices" for us, fortunately her husband intervenes and we were allowed to sleep for that night at an extra cost ofcourse but our night was ruined shame and we were really traumatised. ALMOST HEAVEN WAS A HELL HOLE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN, EVEN ON MY WILDEST DREAM.
Treatment from the owner (Veronique) was worse than hell........ We ended up checking out at 7am on Sunday because of her horrible treatment towards my family.
I am replying to your dishonest review which is total lies. The only reason that I can think that you would write a review like that, is that you booked for 6 people (3 people per room) and you were caught. I would have possibly never known if you had not asked Constance for an iron, That is when I came from my upstairs apartment to ask you where you would be ironing, as we do not keep irons and ironing boards in our rooms. (Especially with kids around). (Also it states on our website that we do not provide laundry services, and no children younger than 9 years old are allowed. To my astonishment, I noticed you had 5 EXTRA GUESTS in the room. I than called my husband, to handle the situation. After a long discussion with my husband, he allowed the guests to stay for that night only, also because you had kids there and it was getting late. With regards to the iron I allowed your friends to use it in my dining room the following day out of the goodness of my heart, and provided an ironing board for them. (IT DEFFINITELY WAS NOT RUSTY). Also the following day my husband kindly helped you to sort out your puncture, which happened on the road near the B & B.

Hi, I don’t know how these guests expected us to react. They booked for 7 people. The day before they arrived they cancelled for 4 guests and only reserved our family room sleeping 3 people. They arrived that night late, with an extra 3 guests. We obviously could not assist them as they had cancelled their accommodation. So now we are selfish????

Firstly nobody would be happy to find their guests smoking indoors. Had to remind them a couple of times, by getting out of my bed that we did not allow noisy behaviour after 10:00 Battled to get them to stick to to the departure time of 10:00. Very traumatised evening for a host.🥲🥲🥲

Verified reviewComfortable, clean, friendly, welcoming. Great bed and pillows. Nice mirror and ligting for doing hair and make up. Bedside tables with lamps. Plugs for chargers helped a lot. Aircom was great.
